Well built and well finished. Threaded on perfectly. Linear concept is that it pushes gases forward. Sound is pushed forward and while its not safe on the ears, it is much better, especially in an indoor range. It gives a little push back, as designed, and it helps with my 300 Blackout when shooting subsonic loads. One complaint I've seen is that the chamber area is open and that cleaning swabs may get stuck in the chamber area of the vents. I actually don't keep it up to torque specs. I take it off from time to time to clean it. Small and low key. I have owned the Noveske Pig comp, and while I like it as well, this works too.

This is not a muzzle brake. If you bought this item thinking you're going to brake the muzzle, you're going to be disappointed. This is a linear compensator. These are designed with the holes in the front only, which directs the gases, flash, and energy forward, not to the sides as a brake would do. A linear compensator is great for short barreled rifles and when shooting from the ground. You won't get a face full of dirt because the blast will be directed down range. Otherwise, this is a great linear compensator, and does exactly what its designed to do.

I install this on alot of combat rifles. Keeps muzzle blast forward and away from the side. Not really made as a muzzle break. But does cut the flash down a bit. Heavy duty construction with standard thread pattern.

Very nice break, it does the job without being overly large or overly expensive. I typically put these on my 300 blackout builds, or 6.8 SPC, I have not put this particular break on a 308 gun, but I have heard that they work well on 308 guns as well. It does seem to make things a bit louder when you shoot, however most of that is directed away from you, so it should only bother everybody else but you. You will notice a dramatic reduction in recoil, making follow up shots easier and more accurate. If you were looking for a decent .30 break that gets the job done for about $50, and isn't to large then this break should work for you. Oh yeah, it's a Troy..
