Cheap. I used it to remove baffles from my motorcycle and the item broke before I had it removed. As others have stated the threads on the puller are not very deep. The threads one the one I received stripped on both the handle end and the puller attachment end leaving the tool unusable. I bought this as I figured it would be used once and put away with the rare use here and there.....Well it did not make it the one use before it was broken and unusable.

I have changed my rating for this item as you can see I was contacted by Tekton support and they sent me a replacement slide hammer. Tekton support stepped up and replaced the slide hammer without any hassles. Great customer service!

I needed a new slide hammer for very (very) occasional use. My old one (25+ years) never came home from being "borrowed". I selected this Tekton as the description sounded like a basic unit and the price was attractive. My rational was simple is good. Not fancy (not glue on tabs, etc.), simple basic fittings. It's a slide hammer, what could go wrong?

Just opened the package. It comes in an el cheapo box - not usable to store it, but don't worry, you won't need to. Screwed on the small screw fitting (screw fits through the center of threaded collar). Very loose fit so I used a wrench to tighten collar while holding shaft in my left hand. The shaft threads immediately striped - holding it in my hand! Looking at remaining threads, it appears it threads were cut 2 or more times, across each other. Straight into recycle.

Had I opened package within a reasonable time after receiving, I would have returned to Amazon and purchased another make.

As a general purpose slide hammer for shop use - not so much for dent pulling, but rather for a small engine shop, this simple, yet effective slide hammer adapts to most of my pullers such as the bearing pullers, CV joint pullers for ATV's, etc. It is a good unit for a decent price, and should last us a good long while. Since we do not use it that often, Could not justify buying Snap-On.

but this isn't a precision tool in the first place. Very happy with the quality for what it costs, an invaluable tool when you get stuck on a project. Would be nice to have a puller included for motorcycle work, but you should be able to rig something up.

Bought 3/8-24 threaded rod, cut it into multiple sections, ground each to nearly a point, and you can use them like a stud welder but with a regular welder, and this will screw right into the slide hammer.

This is not the highest quality dent puller in the world, but for the price it was good enough. I was able to cut a slit into a pull hook that would fit around a pin and pulled out all the dents in my truck. The handle ended up sliding off the unit, but that could be fixed with some hair spray or glue. All in all it was a good deal.

Economical slide hammer so the "cheap and rough" construction of unit described by others was expected. I used it to remove EGR port plugs to clear out the EGR passages. Slide hammer worked really well. Only wished it provided a few different pulling screws as the one included did not fit my plug size and I had to improvise with spare screws I had lying around. Also would have been nice if a container for the tool and accessories was provided, even if it's a cheapie plastic box.
