My kids love ramen noodles so I've been searching for years for a microwave safe bowl that is large enough to hold one package of noodles. This is it!

This bowl is rather thin and very light weight but it's a generous size. It holds a whole package of ramen noodles with some room left at the top to avoid sloshing and spills. It's an attractive black with red interior, but the plastic scratches easily and I'd imagine they won't be pretty for long. However, they are perfect for our needs and I'm delighted to find them.

They don't heat up in the microwave and although the hot ramen inside will transfer heat to the bowl, you have time to get the bowl from the microwave to the table before that happens. This makes it safer for my 10 year old to make his own noodles.

If you have ramen lovers in your house, these bowls will make them happy!

TL;DR (Too Long, Didn't Read):

This bowl is a gargantuan beast, definitely buy it! It's strong, durable and very appealing. A great product from Amazon and the creators.

PROS:

- The bowl looks really nice. The black and red is a very classic, tried and true color combination

- It's HUGE, I can't stress this enough. This bowl is the biggest bowl I have ever used. It will fit anything you could ever possibly want to eat

- It feels durable. I gave it the old stress-test (move hands inwards, apply pressure with hands, chest/shoulder muscles) It DOES NOT have a cheap, plastic feel to it

- It has a Japanese label on it (and on the bottom) so we can go full-circle weeaboo

CONS/NOTES:

- It looks a bit more 'matte' in the Amazon photo and the red looks a bit more like a bright cherry type of red. The actual bowl has a glossy finish and the red is more of a dark, wine red in person. Keep in mind this is more of a "note" I'm just pointing out to people, not really a con.

These are plastic bowls (as described) but they are really big! They measure 6 1/4" wide x 3 3/4" high and the bowl holds 5 cups! Much bigger than I expected but I'll keep looking for the ones I want.

I bought this bowl for eating noodles from at work. When I took it out of the box my first thought was "Wow. This bowl is huge!" It seemed way too big. But I made up a package of noodles and discovered that big is exactly what I needed for noodles. Makes it easier to eat them without getting the broth all over everything. I love this bowl. It's also very attractive. All in all, a great purchase.

Perfect size for ramen noodles. Can fit two packages of ramen with added eggs and frozen veggies. I have put it in top rack dishwasher and seemed ok but i don't know about durability. I bought some ladle type soup spoons with it as well and the combo works well. Make sure to get the spoons with "hooks" because the other kind is too small for this bowl and just slides to the bottom of the bowl. The bowl worked in the microwave and got warm but i was able to get the bowl out of microwave barehanded without burning myself. Very light melamine type material and has a bit of flex to it. Not rigid like some other melamine/plastic material but sturdy enough to hold a bowl of soup. Not for formal place setting. More for very casual, sitting in front of tv, dorm type setting.

I absolutely love this bowl. I was stationed overseas in Korea and started to really love the spicy ramen noodles (which I incidentally found on Amazon too). This is the perfect bowl and fits the round noodles straight out the package without having to break up the noodles. It also is more than big enough to keep the noodles from boiling over in the microwave and what's even better is that won't leave an ugly red stain and ruin my other clear plastic Tupperware or storage containers!

The bowl is really pretty, it's made of plastic so it's not an awesome material, but it works good for rice or chinese food. The colours are really nice even if you used it for something else, it could probably work great as a candy holder as well :P I haven't tried washing it on the dishwasher but I believe you can't/shouldn't with this product. The only thing I don't like is that it's hard to wash and if it gets too greasy it's hard to take it off, doesn't come off easily. The colour is just as shown in the picture and the size is pretty big, or at least big enough for a nice ramen soup or some noodles. And it looks totally japanesy. I'd give it a 4/5 it's not the best soup bowl out there but it's really cool, very circular and just the right size. Still the cleaning is a lil hard, so if you're looking for something to use everyday I wouldn't suggest it, but if you want it to eat from time to time or as decoration it's perfect.
