I wanted to buy a tunnel for our 3 apartment dwelling cats, but held off for a long time since most tunnels are crazy garish colours. When I ran across this brown tube it was love at first sight, and the video review the other reviewer left totally convinced me. One of our cats do not like to go inside because the fabric on the inside crinkles when you walk across it. The little toy attached to the inside is a big hit with our kitten. This tunnel seems sturdier than some others I've seen since it has two layers of fabric. The tunnel is placed in our hallway and the cats run through it at great speed when playing chasing games. It's a good and relatively inexpensive way to provide some environmental stimulation for indoor only cats. This was a good purchase for us.

I bought this for my 3-month-old kittens and they absolutely love it! I'm very satisfied with the purchase because it turned out to be perfect for my own needs, but it might not be right for everybody.

Here are some things to consider:

1. The size is really great for kittens - they can run through the tunnel at full speed, and they can come & go easily through the holes on top. However, my 12-pound adult cat is much too big for it. That's okay, because I didn't intend it for him anyway, but if you're considering buying this for an adult cat, it might not work for you.

2. The tunnel is long, and takes up a lot of space on the floor. That's okay for us because we have a suitable room to put it in, but if you live in a small apartment, you might not like the fact that it takes up so much space. I suggest studying the measurements in the description and measuring your own floor to decide whether you can live with having something of this size in your home.

3. On our hardwood floor, the tunnel rolls back and forth. Ie, sometimes the top holes actually are on top, while other times they're down on the floor. Our kittens actually love that, and it doesn't bother me. But if you're the kind of person who likes things to be orderly, it might annoy you. I just let the holes position themselves wherever they want to, and I let the kittens figure out how to deal with that.

4. It comes with a small ball on a chain that dangles inside the tunnel from its ceiling. Our kittens ripped it out of position the second day they played with it. I've had other cat accessories with dangling toys like that, and they never last more than a day or two once the cats get going, so I expected this to happen.Read more ›

We have purchased other tunnels for pets through the years, but this one is SO well constructed that it is really worth reviewing. It has withstood the onslaught of daily romping by two very young kittens and a pretty hefty one year old cat. They move through it, bat toys into it, jump over (and ON) it, and it has retained its shape. The steel framework has not poked through anywhere and it has been a safe and much enjoyed activity. We anchor it in place by tying one of the attached storage ties into a loop and putting that around a leg of our piano bench. I appreciate that it isn't bright and gaudy.

I was hesitant to buy when I saw the dimensions of the openings of this-
Our lean 8lb kitty, no problem. But would our rather large (15 and 16lb) kitties fit?

I read some of the reviews and saw one that said their 13 (I think) pounder fit so I figured I'd give it a go. We figured even if they did get stuck, it would be worth the entertainment! lol. Well it arrived and as I untied the strings and let it pop open- the two large kitties were instantly curious. (The other just zips around like she's on something & chasing invisible creatures) They love this thing, especially the biggest. We dangle her favorite 3 yr old ribbon through a side opening and she attacks through another, rolling around, kicking and all that stuff. Or she does the butt wiggle and pounces inside and the other attacks. It is also very sturdy- Fabric will hold up a LONG time. I'll post a video when I can. Just wanted to let people know even your big 'uns will fit in this!

Our cats love this. One hides inside the tube while the other pounces at her. The holes make for great hide and go seek games, and although our one cat is a big boy at 15 lbs, he can run through this with ease. It also fits in nicely with our brown furniture, and packs up into a small pack with strings to tie closed if you have company over and need to hide it for a bit.

Our household has 2 cats with 2 dedicated scratching posts, 2 large towers, and a number of small cat toys. One day my wife brought home a small cat tunnel she got from a trade show. I was surprised how much our youngest cat enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was constantly folding up requiring one of us to straighten it out. On a whim I decided to see if I could find something bigger and more reliable.

This tunnel is just what we needed. It's wide enough to fit even a large cat comfortably, is suitably long for hiding and/or ambushing and for charging through, and the wire frame keeps it open and straight at all times.

Now both cats spend at least a third of their daily play time in or around this tunnel. I've had it for over a month and they never get tired of resting in it, hiding in it for an ambush on the other cat, charging through it, or even just staring at each other from opposite ends.

I highly recommend this tunnel. The material quality is good and the utility for cats is far more than I would have ever expected.
