I had my son break the laptop screen and the laptop was only 8 months old. I called up Dell Customer care for the screen and was given a quote of $290 for the repair with assuraance that they would fix any other problem. I was only interested in only the screen but still no less. On further inquiry the Cust Rep informed they do not sell the screens in open market due to some complex technology on the screen. That was a total lie and feel like , you would know :).

I found this screen on amazon and must say was totally easy to replace my broken screen. Guess what, $70 did it all. No magic and not worth $290.

Summing it up ... Amazon Rocks and Dell is the cheat... Although nothing against the computer

Did my research and chose this seller on Amazon versus one on another website. Not a huge $$ investment, but I wanted to get this right the first time. I was not disappointed! A 7 minute youtube video to instruct me step by step, now my new laptop looks factory fresh and ready to go! This was super easy to install on my Dell (I am a novice), just about anyone with good dexterity could accomplish this task.

I used a YouTube video tutorial on how to replace this screen, and I was done in less than 10 minutes and that's including the 3 minutes it took me to locate a dropped screw! It was VERY easy, and the screen is a perfect replacement so far! If you're on the fence about whether you can do this yourself, RELAX, you CAN.

MY PROBLEM: Screen would begin to fuzz and images would stop moving. To fix it, I would simply tilt the laptop screen back and forth until the screen was functional again. As the months progressed, it got to the point where I was maneuvering the screen all directions to make it work. It would take anywhere between 5-15 mins before I could get started on what I needed to do, and this is IF I was able to get the image showing. Eventually I had to resort to using my TV as a monitor when the screen finally gave out, and only a fuzzed color would display.

MY SOLUTION: This awesome screen I just bought. Changed it out quick with a pop of the bezel and loosening of screws (I used a #0x3 philips screwdriver from O'Reilly Auto Parts). Problem solved and works perfectly.

THE SCREEN ITSELF: It was well-packaged when it arrived. No scratches or dents or pops or anything of the sort. New as advertised!

I used this to replace my broken screen and it is fantastic! After watching a short 7 minute video on YouTube I was able to replace my screen effortlessly. I literally followed the video step by step and was able to replace my screen in about 10 minutes. My screen actually looks better than the one that came with the original laptop, its colors are crisper and bright. There were also no dead pixels at all and the product came super fast!!! Definitely buy this screen and replace it yourself I have no experience with computers at all and did it my self, BestBuy wanted to charge me 250!! Great Buy!

- Says samsung on the screen so I expected decent quality
- Very good price

Cons
- You need to find an install tutorial online if you want to DIY
- The screen i received would overheat and cause the laptop to overheat as a result.
