Format: Audio CD Verified Purchase
A perfect album. More unified than The Evening Visits…, which itself is required listening, with better production and stronger songs. Drift is a masterpiece comprised of equal parts angst, melancholy, and beauty. The vocals ache with desire and disappointment. Lyrically, Walsh is in a class with Mark Eitzel, though not so much in style as in his ability to casually devastate, where to lash out at the world is to savage himself. The bonus tracks are welcome, in that more Apartments is always good, but the album was balanced and complete as originally issued--an album, back when musicians thought in such terms.
