I bought this rod to hand matching suede brown curtain for a small home theater that is about 136 inches in opening. This is a long rod, and it comes with 4 supporting hangers: 2 for the ends, and 2 in between. I purchased 4 54" x 95" curtains, each weighed approximately 1 - 1.5 pounds.

Because the rod needs support opening from the middle to two sides, only one hanger can be installed in the middle (3 total), thus allowing curtains on two sides to push to opposite ends. I assume most people would use this configuration. It does hold well once the rod is secured by the 3 supporting hangers.

If I wanted only to use 2 support hangers in order to freely slide all curtains to one side, it would not hold the weight (sag badly in the middle). If I wanted to use all four hangers for maximum support, then the 4 pieces of curtains will basically lock in it's quarter segment. Luckily 3 hangers worked for me.

Its okay. Yes, it is a lot smaller than the image shown.(I HAVE UPLOADED A PICTURE OF HOW IT REALLY LOOKS LIKE - SCROLL DOWN ON THE PAGE AND FIND CUSTOMER IMAGES) I wish I had gotten the black one but I was in a hurry and I was purchasing both curtains and a rod and this rod was the one suggest by amazon. It's a 4/5 product to me because to me it should be cheaper than 25$

This curtain rod looks really nice in the house, but whoever designed the thing must have been drunk! It is incredibly difficult to install because of the angle of the brackets. There's no way to install the screw in squarely because the bracket is directly in the way of whatever you are using to screw/drill it in with. Other than that, it looks very nice, but be prepared to deal with very difficult installation, and cursing loudly to yourself.

The good: This curtain rod has a quality look for the price and construction. It genuinely looks like a rustic hardwood rod. It also has sturdy construction that can handle heavy curtains. Finally, the span of lengths this rod is capable of is awesome. It's hard to find a quality over-sized rod at this price point, especially with so much versatility, and this one fits the bill.

The bad: As others have mentioned, it's not so easy to install. The instructions are on the side of the box, which is several feet long. They also aren't very specific. The wall bracket and the bracket that holds the rod are two separate pieces and the box does not say how to attach them to one another. It's not super hard to figure out, but it would be nice to know which side the screws should go in and which side the nuts should go on. And I only figured out later why some of the holes are large at the top and narrow to the size of the screw--I presume this is to increase the projection from the wall.

It's also very difficult to use a normal-sized drill and get to the top hole of the wall bracket underneath the adjacent hanging bracket. You might think you should attach the hanging bracket after the wall bracket is secured, but that's very hard to do when you're hanging the rod 7 or 8 feet up the wall since it requires a small screwdriver and small wrench to do. Hand tightening the nuts will not be adequate for heavier curtains, and you cannot get the screw in by hand.

Finally, I found the anchors to be pretty much useless. As others have mentioned, 3/16" is not big enough, but 3/4" is too big. I tried to use the 3/16" to sort of slightly enlarge the hole by hand.Read more ›

These are the cheapest made curtain rods my hands have ever touched. But, whatev. They're here and I'll be damned if I spend another night in my curtainless room. I assumed this would come with a solid square mount due to the photo of how it's hung (which is in direct contrast to the "instructions" on the side of the box). Now that I have all of the pieces and see the out of proportion/incorrectly scaled mount instructions, I see that I would never hang my curtains the way that the seller's image is suggesting. Curtains are meant to be hung outside of the windows in order to really frame them. The seller's image is missing the part that needs to be flush against the wall. It's as if I'm suppose to hang then from inside the box of my window (not gonna happen). The pieces provided don't make it as easy as it should be and if you only use the pieces provided it makes it more likely that the rod will eventually fly out of your wall at any time. If I had kids, I'd send these back. If these prove to be more trouble than they're work (ie they fall and leave large holes in my wall), I will send them back.
