When Amazon stopped offering Lu Petit Buerre biscuits, I was terribly disappointed. I cannot find them locally in any supermarket, so I did the Amazon subscribe and save subscription. It was cancelled by Amazon before my second delivery. As I am not about to pay the ridiculous amount of shipping on offer from other merchants, I started another search for a substitute biscuit. I felt I would take a chance on Osem Petit Buerre.
These biscuits are good with any beverage - a dry, crispy biscuit that keeps me going mid-morning.

The Osem biscuits are not quite as nice as Lu, perhaps because they use vegetable oil rather than butter.
The word "Buerre" translated from the French means "butter". :)
I like the butter taste in Lu biscuits, and have not found a salty aftertaste as per another reviewer.
It really is a matter of personal preference = good that we are all different and not little robots.
I am a bit troubled that one of the ingredients in Osem Petit Buerre is Soy Lecithin which the packaging says is produced from GMO. I guess I do not understand the full meaning of Kosher. :)
The rest of the ingredients are fine and appear natural.
I am now used to the Osem brand, but will switch back to Lu brand if ever I can find them again at a reasonable price.
lol - just checked availability of Osem = out of stock at the moment. Think I have to start searching again?!

the price is good and we are happy we could find it in Amazon.
The only issue is that a few cookies in every sleeve are broken...

People say they're dry, boring or very old school. I'd say they're perfect with coffee or tea, and of course for many delightful desserts such as cheesecake with biscuits or the good old the Chokladboll.
Judging by other Petit Beurre I've tasted, Osem's greatest advantages are the facts that they're baked and don't contain fat butters that have salty aftertaste.

Everybody says the biscuits are broken when they received. Hmm... Of course are broken, the biscuits are so old and dry... The only way in which it can be is extremely dry and broken. I think it's an year old or more.

They used to carry this brand at one of the grocery stores in my area, but for some reason they stopped and replaced it with the Kedem brand, which is absolutely disgusting in my opinion. I like the texture of these biscuits better than any of the other brands I know (although admittedly I haven't tried every brand out there). Some European brands are ok, but most of them are too greasy and needlessly expensive. These Osem biscuits don't leave grease on your fingers, and are firm enough so they don't collapse immediately if you dip them in your tea or coffee. Personally, I use them in my chocolate balls recipe, and they are perfect for it, because they crumble easily to just the right size of chunks, and absorb just enough moisture to ensure they blend into the texture of the chocolate balls but also retain a bit of their crunchiness. Two thumbs up.

Also, the fact that each pack is 250 grams (8.8 oz) as opposed to the European brands' usual 200 grams (7.05 oz) is a big plus, and leaves me some wiggle room in my recipes.
