I bought a medium for our almost 5 month old daughter that weighs 16.5 lbs. Since medium was 6-12 months and 16-22 lbs, I thought it would be perfect. Well, I can get them on her but they are incredibly tight around the openings and after swimming for 30 minutes, they left horrible red marks around her legs. I used them twice and had the same result.

I bought a large and those fit perfect. They fit well under her swimsuits (even the ones that claim they have a built-in swim diaper but are too baggy that I don't trust it!) and have a few layers that I HOPE will contain any poo if that happens.

Unlike another reviewer said, it DOES NOT contain pee. I haven't heard of any swim diaper that does, so I don't care, but I don't want to give anyone false hope. While standing outside the pool waiting for swim class to begin, my daughter peed on me. And it ALLLLL came right through. Fun stuff.

She did "shart" in it once but it was hardly anything to really allow me to speak on their effectiveness for a full-on poop... but the shart was contained and actually rinsed off extremely easily, so I have high hopes.

If she does ever poop in the diaper, I will come back and update - since she is a breastfed baby and has very loose stools, I'm worried that it will leak since it's pretty liquidy. I hope I never have to find out. These are a pain to get off of her with one hand (while I hold her with the other) and I can only imagine how much worse it would be if they were full of poop.

I tried a Huggies disposable swim diaper to see how it compared - it honestly was MORE difficult than this reusable diaper. The disposable was harder to get on.Read more ›

I was looking to get a swim diaper that I could wash and re-use instead of continually buying disposable swim diapers. I bought the 2XL for my 2 year old that is just over 30 lbs. They were too tight! She wore them a couple of times and then started complaining that it was too tight and so I was forced back into disposable swim diapers for the rest of our trip. I should have ordered these earlier so that I could have returned them for a different size. However, they look great and seem to work well at containing messes as they are snug fitting around the waist and legs. So, provided you get the right size, I think these are a great pick for a swim diaper.

Used these in Maui for my 12month old and they were great! Easy to put on and supportive elastic hugged her thighs just right without being too tight or loose. I put her own swim bottoms over them too, just to match her top and give me comfort in knowing she's wearing 2 layers. Never had a poop situation but it was reassuring having these supportive swim diapers! Color was true to the image online and didnt bleed color on her other suit or while drying. Worth it!

Like other reviewers stated, THESE RUN SMALL! My baby is 12months old, weighs 21 lbs, wears a 12mo top and long legs require 18mo pants...so i got these swim diapers in a size XL and they were perfect! I'm glad i read the other reviews first because i was initially going to get a large, but i got the XL and was glad i did!

Having previous experience with swim diapers and knowing they tend to run small I ordered a 3T for my 31lb 2.5 year old. The waist fits well, the bum area is a bit baggy and the leg openings are still snug although I'm hoping not too snug so they get us through our upcoming vacation. I was kind of bummed though that the pattern that is pictured is not what I received as the one I thought we were getting matches her two swimsuits and this one not so much. I provided a collage picture with this review (the top is the pattern we were supposed to receive and the bottom is the pattern that was actually received.)

My baby has always been in the 5-10 percentile for weight, so I had to try lots of different swim diapers to fit her skinny legs. This brand worked great! It was even snug on her, which I think these things are intended to be so they hold in whatever solids come out of your baby. I've seen so many reviews of swim diapers where people complain about the diaper not holding pee. They're not meant to absorb water, people! Otherwise your child will sink from the weight of the diaper...or the diaper will slide off from being so heavy! They're meant to hold in poop for health purposes!! With that in mind, don't put these on your baby until right before they get in the water and be prepared to change them into a real diaper when they get out. Or else prepare yourself to get peed on.

Says its for beach use too but sand gets stuck between layers and its IMPOSSIBLE to get out. Very saggy when wet and now always looks dirty because sand is imbedded in the fabric. Also leaves bad elastic marks on my baby's legs. Would not recommend

I followed advice of other reviewers and bought a size larger than the weight ranges indicated, and the diaper has fit well. I bought the "Large" (22-28#) diaper for my baby just before she hit 22lbs, and now that she's approaching 23lbs she squeezes into this diaper. I'm sure the fit is supposed to be snug (to prevent any "leaks"), but I cannot imagine she'll be able to morph into this at 28lbs. The prints are cute (I bought pink and purple) and she gets lots of compliments when she struts around the pool--and the price wasn't bad, especially if you compare to disposable swim diapers!
