Can't be any flimsier. There is no heavy duty metal. The cover is made of very weak plastic and the pipe is made with very thin aluminum. Only buy if you need a temporary solution.

The item is not well made. The plastic and metal feel cheap. When I got the item out of the box one of the flaps was already broken off.

This was easy to install and was long enough to reach through any house wall -- a requirement when not knowing the thickness until I cut the hole. Easy working louvers and much better than the usual damper flap that never quite closes.

The tube is a thick aluminum, the plastic is thick too. Looks well put together and sturdy, replaced my old vent with this one very easily. I am very pleased with this item and hope I don't need to buy another one but if I do I'm going with this one. Fast shipping and product security in the box.

Great vent kit for a dryer or anything needing a 4" vent. Has great backdraft dampers to prevent outside air from entering back into the duct. The plastic louvers are solidly connected to the metal duct via tabs that fit into holes in the duct which is good, because it keeps the duct attached during installation. I used this to vent heat out of a networking closet and coupled with a duct booster fan, it works great! Well worth the money if you want a simple duct that looks good once installed, but functions well also. It also has a square metal trim ring to dress up the inside and cover the hole through the wall, so that's great as well.
