Why they replaced this terry cloth with disposable ones that don't work as well (and create more paper waste) is beyond me. This reusable cloth is far superior to any other product out there that I have seen. Apparently a North Carolina man has introduced a cloth "dye magnet" but I don't know how that differs from this original one. I believe the original company that made these, sold it and the new company replaced the terry cloth with paper ones that would make more money since they constantly had to be replaced (but didn't work as well.) This item should be included in household items and not health and beauty. As of Sept 2014, -Still have not found anything better. Since I would never intentionally wash red and white things together, I can't comment on the negative review listed, but I know from years of experience with this cloth, it does what advertised when used sensibly.

I have had a couple of these for years. I hate to do my laundry with out one. I recently lost both of mine and I have been lost with out them. I got mine the other day at Walmart for less than $3 each. I believe these worked for way more than 30 washes. These are great a collecting the dye so the dyes dont bleed on things you dont want them to.

We've been using these for about a year now and they are just the best! I think they work for way more than 30 washes too! Our only issue has been to remember to take them out before the tumble drying, but we're used to it now! We won't do a wash without one of those dye grabbers anymore!

I was honestly skeptical but since I had a black and white outfit, I wanted to at least TRY to prevent bleeding into the white. I did some research and some sciencey folks on a website said these work by charging the fabric and thus it will draw harder on dye (like a magnet) to the cloth instead of your regular (assuming non-charged) fabric. That explanation could be total BS, but it sounded good enough to me. It made more sense than "magic" anyway.

This cloth came out pretty grey, I was surprised. My black and white items look good. Since I don't have a control group I can't be sure that the outfit would have bled without the cloth, but I'm happy anyway. It says it has 30 washes before it loses it's charge so we'll see. If I have any bleeding between now and then I'll re-post when it "died".

I used this product for a new quilt that i had finished and wasn't sure if my colors would bleed or not. I used the Soak Wash when washing the quilt and I threw in the Grabber with it. I was surprised to see that it did in fact pick up any sight bleeding that the fabric produced without letting it run onto my backing of the quilt, which was totally white. It didn't bleed very much, but the Grabber worked very well and my backing stayed completely white.

The reusable Carbona Dye Grabber has proven to be the most effective dye catching product our family has used to date. The terry type swatch of fabric is larger than a standard sized washcloth. The edges are nicely bound, making it a good cleaning rag at the end of it's dye grabbing life. However, the ones my husband used collected too much color to be trusted to work for the full advertised 30 loads of mixed wash, making them significantly more expensive than the competition.
