I ordered two dishes, bowls, and mugs before ordering a set of 8 just to be sure that I liked them as much as I thought I would. Fiesta is one of but two US companies who make lead-free dishes, and I was in love with the colors and the square shaped dishes.

Aside from the fact that one set arrived broken (accidents happen), I'm not going to order the other sets and wish I had ordered just the one that arrived unbroken. (Hind sight is always 20/20.) Reasons:

1. The bowls don't stack. Square bottom, round top. I don't like cluttered cabinets and am trying to keep things simple and well-organized. This set will only work against me in terms of the space it will require.

2. They are very heavy and kind of bulky, which is both their charm and curse, and the one plate that I put into my dishwasher would not stand up properly. I've never had that problem with a plate before.

The colors are absolutely beautiful and that they are lead free is a reason to buy them if you don't mind the issues I stated above. For me, I will have to check out the other US lead-free manufacturer and keep my fingers crossed to find a set as lovely as these.

Mug size is perfect for coffee, not enormous and not a little tea cup. I like the squared plates and bowl, and they too are a good size for my cupboards, for my dishwasher, and for the microwave. I love the cobalt blue I chose, it's rich and deep, and the color is consistent from piece to piece. The weight is a happy medium, not too thick and clunky, but more substantial than china. I'm a klutz and have bumped the pieces against each other taking them in and out of the cupboard and dishwasher, but haven't had a chip yet... I think I'm gonna love these for a long long time. This is The Good Stuff! And they are NOT made in China!!! I love that I can buy all the completer pieces I want...

Love it. Nothing compares to it. At the time the Amazon order was placed, Summer 2013 the three piece set was $40. Oddly the extra pieces being offered at the Amazon site either they didn't carry what I wanted or they were charging extra for shamrock color of the square place setting. Other colors were cheaper for the identical. Went to the Homer Laughlin website and able to purchase the extra pieces was looking for in shamrock at no extra cost plus purchased 2 more sets at a tremendous savings and they even added a 'bonus' dessert bowl for each set ordered.

Should also mention although Amazon shipping is certainly good for an everyday purchase, when you buy Fiesta, you want the assurance the packing is only the best. The shipment from Homer Laughlin was considerably better packed than that sent by Amazon, plus the company now keeps me updated on new changes to my set. I am a avid Amazon shopper, but when buying something like Fiesta look around before placing the order.

Update. Several months after the initial Amazon purchase noticed Amazon was selling the three piece set for $29.99 rather than $40. So purchased several additional sets as 'insurance' against breakage. Was happy to see the second order was packed a bit more carefully than the first. So far with moderate to heavy usage the set still looks new with no chips or cracks.

Love, love, love these! Have used these every day since we received our sets! I have a 2 1/2 year old and love these for her as well. I can serve her meals and not have to worry about the plate moving while she eats like the bpa free plastic plates we had while she was younger. And the colors are beautiful and fun for my picky eater! Also a note on the bowls, they STACK but do not NEST. Plates nest beautifully. Cleanup is a breeze. Haven't cooked in them yet but am excited to!

I have many pieces of Fiestaware but this Lapis color was a first for me. Beautiful blue and it looks especially nice paired with Sunflower and White colors of this line of stoneware. I am a big fan of the square Fiesta pieces because you get a lot of room on the plates for food. Also the servings of food do not have to be touching one another if that is the way you prefer it. If you have a picky eater who feels this way, this is the plate for you.

The mugs are the perfect size. Not overly large but hold plenty of beverage and the handle makes it so easy to hold for it provides a large opening for the fingers.

Highly recommend the square Fiesta pieces.

I am collecting square place settings of Fiesta Dinnerware and was hoping to find a set of Marigold but the company is no longer producing it. So.......I ordered Tangerine. It came today and my husband was opening the box for me and he said, "Wow, this is pretty!" It is so shiny and beautiful and we are thrilled with the color as well as the style. I am more than pleased with the square pattern. The plates are large and if you place the bowl in the center of the plate it makes a nice dip/chip set.

I wanted to collect the primary colors Scarlet, Shamrock, Peacock and Marigold but the Tangerine looks nice with what I already have. And by the way, just tonight I located the Marigold pieces separately and they will be arriving soon.

I would recommend Fiesta Dinnerware to everyone. The colors are so spectacular and just make you feel good. AND this company is located n West Virginia, USA!
