Advertized that it will work as far back as windows 98. I cannot get it to work nativly on windows 98, or with the generic Windows 98SE USB Mass Storage Device Drivers. I'm sure that this is a great product for xp and 7 machines, but not on a 98 computer as advertized. Check the manufacturers website and they, there, state no 98 support.

One small caveat is that the BIOS doesn't recognize your keyboard or mouse if it's plugged into this card.

This works great. All my dads usb hubs that were built into the pc quit working and I was tasked to fix it since I'm the computer guy of the family. I researched to no end and ended up chalking it up to hardware failure. So I bought this PCI adapter and he now has USB functionality again. He doesn't use the computer very much so it was much cheaper to spend $8 instead of getting a new pc.

Ordered on Wednesday, delivered on Monday. The USB 2.0 5-port PCI adapter card was packaged in a static free bag within a 8" x 5.5" x 1.25" retail shelf ready box. It includes simple installation instructions. Since it's plug and play there isn't a CD containing any software to install! I just plugged the new card into an unused PCI slot on my PC running Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 installed. After powering the PC back on, the hardware was recognized immediately and ready for immediate use. I tested one of the new USB 2.0 ports by plugging in a USB 2.0 external 1.5TB hard drive and was able to read and write files without any problems. I am using the external hard drive to backup, copy, and move thousands of songs, photos, videos, and data files between various PCs.
