Perhaps my expectations for this stuff are too high, but the black color peels off pretty readily when being twisted and maniulated to make jewelry. It looks great until the black coat comes off. Second strike for "Artistic Wire" in my experience.

For the most part, the black color did not come off when I used it except sometimes when I crocheted with it and used a metal crochet hook. Other than that, there were no problems, it is a strong, pliable wire. I've used it for a number of projects, and it worked really well for those.
