The inner straight edge is at different heights on the left and right which is very awkward for generating an angle related to a straight line. Mine came in a dark blue color which is nice except if you are using anything but bright white paper, it is impossible to see the numbers (even against a lightly colored pine wood board). Cheap but not worth the cost.

I've ordered a few protractors for school and this is probably the best I've ever had! I don't use them for crazy architecture, high level math or anything; just basic stuff (this semester it was for geography); so I may not have the proper knowledge to compare this to anything professional. But for general usage this is pretty sturdy and isn't annoying like those other dollar protractors. Everything is aligned, the angle ruler thing wasn't in an awkward place, ALL numbers and lines were dark and very easy to see. Not to mention I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't cracked. Basically, it is perfect! Can't beat the price too!!!

Couldn't find these things in local stores. Of course it's on the required items list for school. Sprawl Marts loss is Amazon gain. I bought 30 of these for everyone in the class. They came in multiple colors. Nice big protractor so the kids can handle them nicely. The swing arm will come in handy - didn't have that on my childhood protractor. The only down side is that the blue one is a little difficult to read cause it lacks contract of black numbers on blue plastic. If you get yellow you're smiling.
