I bought this because a pattern (cross stitch)called for it. I have used metallics in the past and hated them! This was easy to use and easy to thread in the needle. It lays well and did not fray. I initially used it with Thread Heaven because I was worried about it fraying, but soon stitched without it because it just wasn't necessary. I stitched about 10 Algerian Eye stitches with it and had plenty left over.
