Change of quality and lack of customer service.

When I bought my daughter her first Luxe blanket 3 years ago, it was much nicer. The new blanket feels thinner and the fur is much shorter. The satin trim pill almost immediately.

I also noticed quite a few sewing defects. For example, misaligned stitches on the Little Giraffe logo, uneven stitches on the trim(see pictures). I actually phoned the Little Giraffe company to question the authenticity of the new blanket.

I also emailed them a few product pictures hoping that I could bring their attention to the product quality issue.
How they responded is,
"If you would like to make a return you are able to return your items from where they were purchased.
Thank you,
CUSTOMER SERVICE"

Too thin, no longer the way it use to be

These are very thin (still soft) but cheaper quality. I have a PotteryBarn blanket that was half the price that's bigger and BETTER. These lil giraffe ones use to be thinker and much more plush. Beware, they're not like the old ones.

Best Blanket Ever Made

This series Giraffe blanket is the best blanket ever made. We have been buying these for years and could not be happier. 2 boys, 3 dogs, and a family that likes blankets more than people at times, and they hold up to all that abuse. Dog hair washes out. They are warm, stay soft, feel heavy (which we all like)and they hold their shape. In fact, one much loved blanket eventually lost the lining edge and our kids made us take it to the tailor to put a new binding on it. The blanket itself was not worn out.

These are not inexpensive, but I have never seen a better blanket anywhere.

Still a favorite after seven years!

Our seven year old daughter started using this Little Giraffe Luxe Blanket in pale pink as a newborn. She still sleeps with it every night. It is her "comfort object." I ended up buying an additional one for when the other was in the wash.

This is my favorite style of little giraffe blanket. It is the softest and silkiest that little giraffe makes. I think it holds up better to washing and drying than the chenille version. If you dry the chenille version in the dryer, it is no longer very soft and rather bumpy.

We wash my daughter's luxe blankets in our front loader washer on hand wash or a gentle cycle. Then we hang it up to dry. This has keep it much closer to its original, luxurious softness.

We did accidentally dry the first one we bought. It is still soft, but my daughter prefers the one that has not been dried in the dryer. It is just a touch softer.

I know spending this much on a blanket might seem extravagant. But this is not an ordinary blanket. This is much, much softer and cushioning than a minky blanket. There is nothing else like it on the market.

We just purchased another one in cream for my newborn daughter. I love snuggling her in it.

It has survived Disneyland and a trip to Europe. It helped keep her warm on the planes. She uses it to sleep with all year round. We also used it in the stroller all the time. Except for extremely hot summer days. But she still wanted it in the car with her no matter the temperature.

If you are looking for a lovely baby gift, there is nothing better. Parents and children will find it difficult to put down.

bigger giraffee blanket for bigger boy

So happy with my purchase of the bigger little giraffee blanket. My son had the same little giraffe baby blanket since he was born. He is now 4.5 and old blanket worn out and too small. Decided he needed new one. Ordered this larger luxe throw. Its a bit larger than I thought-not a carry around blanket but one to snuggle up to on his bed. I hesisatated to buy this at first because of the cost, but I am so happy I did. Its his favorite blanket and the only one he will use. Have not washed it yet so dont know how it holds up in wash?

Awful!

The hem on this was uneven, and the entire blanket was kind of sewn wrong, so you couldn't even fold it properly. And when I received it the binding was so wrinkled I actually couldn't iron them out.

So soft

This blanket is so soft and wonderful. When my baby was first born, this blanket went everywhere with us. She napped wrapped up in it in our arms, she played on it on the ground, we used it in the stroller. It was great. Now that it is summer, we use it less, but it is packed away in the closet for the fall. After using it nearly every day, there is almost no visible signs of wear. I am sure we will be using this blanket for many years with all our children.

Heavy for a baby blanket

This blanket is super soft and washes extremely well, however, I find myself using a fleece blanket more often as this blanket is quite heavy in comparison. It's more of a decorative item in the nursery now! I bought one for my sister as well and she rarely uses it given the weight. Given the cost, I probably wouldn't purchase or recommend this again.
