Great device for the price!

I bought this webcam to video chat on skype. I was concerned that the quality of the video would be grainy in dim lighting or at night, but that has not been a problem. I tested it last night and was surprised that the quality of the video was very clear. It also comes with a headset/earpiece, which is useful if you're in an area where there is a lot of background noise. If you have a mic integrated into your computer/laptop, you probably will not need to use the headset.

There was no installation. Just plug it in and you can start to use it immediately! It fits snugly on top of my computer monitor, but can be used on laptops as well. I would definitely recommend this to those who want something simple and easy to use.

Only works under some operating systems. No drivers.

I bought this to use for skyping on an ASUS eeepc 7" because I read that it would be recognized by skype on this machine with no drivers needed. That turned out to be wrong. To salvage the situation, I tried booting it up under Windows 7, which recognized it, loaded camera and audio drivers but would not recognize it as a webcam, so it could not be used for skyping on that machine. I subsequently booted it up on systems running Vista and XP and those systems auto loaded built in windows drivers and recognized the audio, camera and webcam functions.

Place it any where camera/microphone

It is a nice camera with a good picture. I bought it for the older laptop without a camera or microphone. Plugged it in and Vista Home Edition did all of the USB setup. All I had to do is figure out where I wanted to place the camera/microphone. It followed the acronym KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Great little camera for the price!

I bought this camera on sale for $14 with low expectations and an intent to return. But I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of the video and its inconspicuousness, and I plan to keep it.

Pros:

- $14
- Takes decent video even in low light
- Small profile, inconspicuous
- Decent aesthetics

Cons:

- Monitor clip won't fit on normal monitors... it's mean for laptops. But it will sit OK on your desk although you may need to prop it up.
- Haven't tested the mic but I have heard mixed reviews on it.
- Not HD (but again, it's $14)

This is a great web cam just plug and play. I got it as a gift and loved it so much that I bought one for my family so I could talk to them a few states away using skype. its cheap I got it for 15 dollars but works better then many of the 40$ and up web cams. I would recommend this web cam to everyone.

Works better than expected

After reading the reviews I figured it was worth trying. I needed a web cam because my laptop doesn't have one. So far I have used it to make phone calls through Gmail and it works great. The calls are clear and the sound is great. Its not too bulky so it doesn't get in the way or is unsightly.

Very good for its price

For the price of $13 is a very good web camera. For chatting through skype this is as good as I expected. It delievers a clear picture even at low light conditions. I was concerned about mounting on my desktop monitor but the design of the mounting lets you position it on a monitor that is thicker than lapotop's screen.

Decent, inexpensive webcam for Mac OS

Decent, inexpensive webcam that also works with Mac OS X (tested from 10.6.x -> 10.9.5). Since it is UVC it should work with pretty much any OS.
