We have a wonderful vintage Adirondack chair we've had for years now, but it is so weather worn and well-loved that it's ready to retire. Everyone has spent time sitting in the back yard comfortably nestled in its arms reading and enjoying themselves as they catch a few rays and drinking a cold one of choice. No doubt it's only a matter of time before the darn thing collapses and I was especially pleased to see the Highwood Reclining Adirondack Adult Chair arrive.

In addition to the chair and the Highwood folding side table, we also have this folding ottoman. The ottoman is quite sturdy and surprisingly comfortable, especially when the chair is reclining slightly. The design is lovely and will fold up for easy storage. The curved design will not allow for flat storage, but you will still be able to easily tuck it away in your garage or storage shed. If you are purchasing this for your pool area, when the Adirondack chair is fully reclined it feels like a lounge chair.

PROS:

++ The ottoman is weather resistant, although I would recommend putting it up for the winter in areas that experience freezing temperatures.

++ It's very durable under normal use and should not experience any breaks in the material.

++ The ottoman folds up and can be stored or moved aside if you aren't using it.

++ The ottoman is essentially maintenance free, save periodic cleaning.Read more ›

You get what you pay for. Well worth the investment.

We love this furniture. It looks about as realistic as it possibly can and feels great to the touch. Shortly after acquiring these we came across a similar competitive product at a local garden center that was more expensive and clearly "plastic" in it's look and feel. The Highwood products are clearly superior and it validated our feeling like this was money well spent.

There is no assembly required for the ottoman. It integrates with the chair extremely well. Very comfortable and folds nicely for easy storage They look great and best of all - completely maintenance free!

We are extremely satisfied - would buy again and highly recommend.

We have the Highwood "adult" sized Adirondack chairs, for which this ottoman was intended...and for which it is absolutely perfect and very comfortable, fitting snugly up to the front of the chair. However, many Adirondacks are larger/higher (including some of Highwood's), so just pay careful attention to your needs for height.

Works. But not thrilled with the the fake wood and plastic looking faux wood look. Does NOT match our brown Costco Chairs that another reviewer said did match. So bottom line is if the color is not important you may rate it a 5 star.

Not bad in itself however its not something you'd by without a chair... With this in mind it worth noting that while these might last longer without varnishing there are clearly issue with production quality.

We bought 2 of these and 2 chairs and the chair was the third one we received that we kept. It was obviously repainted over problem areas and not something that should have been sold, but we couldn't face returning yet another. At least this paint-by-numbers-failure didn't have a screw all the way through the armrest ready for our own mini plastic version of the crucifixion.

Highwood USA is failing on quality control so buy at your own risk.
