i love muscle pharm combat powder. i've tried 5 of the flavors so far and here's my list from best to worst flavors so far. 1.banana creme (delicious!) 2.vanilla (tastes like vanilla cake) 3. chocolate (basic and good) 4.triple berry(smells bad in powder, tastes like strawberry quick when mixed) 5. orange creme (ick all around).

Best tasting protein powder ever... Seriously

This is the first product I've reviewed that I didn't buy on Amazon. I bought it at Costco in cookies n cream and it is easily the best tasting protein powder I've had. Hands down. Lots of people seem to complain about the taste when they buy orange or cinnamon.... Really? Maybe buy a normal flavor

Works Well

Now this is some decent tasting protein! If anything its too sweet which is different from my usual complaint about protein shakes. Usually they taste like chalk or nothing at all. This one doesn't have that problem. I am in my bulk up face but at the same time am trying to minimize the amount of fat I gain in the process. Muscle Pharm has always been good with keeping the fat and sugar to a minimum. I've mixing Citrulline Malate in my pre-workout shake for the last month. If you've ever taken any kind of Nitric Oxide Booster, this stuff will put them to shame -(Primaforce Citrulline Malate 200 Grams + FREE Beta Alanine 250 Grams Powder).

One thing to be aware of if you plan on mixing this stuff in a shaker, it won't fully mix. It tastes good but you need a blender unless you want to be swallowing bits of grainy powder. But that is the case for most proteins so I won't dock any points for that.

Good first experience with whey protein.

For about the past 6 months I have been using a brand of plant protein that had protein extracts from brown rice, hemp, chia, yellow pea, and so on. I really liked that stuff because it blended well in a green smoothie and it didn't make me bloated or gassy. The downfall was it was $35 for a pound of it, so I did some research and decided to purchase MusclePharm Protein. What I really like about it is:
1. Not all of the protein is whey.
2. It keeps you satisfied for longer so you don't go and snack in between meals.
3. It is extremely easy to blend, its all disolved within minutes.
4. It has glutamine added to aid with muscle recovery.
5. I don't get bloated or anything while taking this product.

I also want to thank the suppler Swanson Health Products for the fast shipping. I ordered this on a Friday, shipped on sunday, and recieved it on tuesday, 4 days before the estimated delivery time.

love this product! the calories versus the amount of protein, carbs, etc... and added BCAAs make it the perfect meal-enhancement shake. i've been doing the macro diet and have started drinking 1 1/2 scoops with light soy milk for breakfast. it satisfies me well until my mid-morning protein snack. also, if i have calories left over in the evenings, it's the perfect way to end the night and not ruin, but rather enhance, your daily macro intake...plus it tastes like dessert!! what more could you ask for?

Most Likely the Best Protein Powder on the Market

*Recently downgrading my review because Muscle Pharm is notoriously known for protein spiking (cheap/not real proteins, that are not digestible by the body). Lately I have been leaning toward Optimum Nutrition products, which do not have extra "complexes" added to the protein.

I have tried a lot of protein powders in my day: SYNTHA-6, Myofusion, Tru Mass, Optimum Nutrition, American Standard, ISO-100, Body Fortress (cheap Walmart brand), EAS (cheap grocery store brand), and GNC's generic brand.

Here's the list of my picks for the best protein powders:

MusclePharm vs Optimum Nutrition

I just finished my first tub of Muscle Pharm Combat (chocolate) after using Optimum Nutrition exclusively for years. I made the switch because ON has steadily increased in price over the years and I got a great deal on Muscle Pharm.

Pros: Great initial taste
Mixes easily with water
"Slow release" protein
Price
Great when mixed in smoothies. I blend it with frozen cherries, almond milk, hemp hearts and cacao powder
Cons: Not 100% whey. I know thats what makes it time released but cassein and egg proteins don't have as complete of an amino acid profile as whey
In my opinion the flavor is too sweet (another reviewer compared it to Nestle Quick and I tend to agree) when mixed with milk
Has an artificial sweetener aftertaste
While it mixes really well with water, it doesn't mix as easily as ON when using milk

I'm not sure I'm ready to make this my everyday protein just yet but I will be buying again to use in smoothies because of the price.
