It's very important to me that these are 100% recycled. As a rule, I don't use paper towels at all. I use wash cloths and launder them myself for nearly everything. So for the people who complain that these aren't as absorbent as Name Brands, that is true but doesn't affect me, because I usually use cloth.

So why do I need them at all?
I use them to absorb bacon grease, I don't think melted grease is good on my drains or the laundry.
Sop up spilled raw meat juices before I disinfect the area with a cloth.
Pick up nasty things to place in trash that I don't want in my laundry ( think baby barf or stool - sorry for the visual)
Use as a lint free glass wipe once in a while for phone, etc.

These are great because I can just tear off a small 1/2 sheet for little jobs and more for others. A case usually lasts me over 18 months.

These are great towels. I have been buying them by the case for years. However, I'm not sure why I or anyone else would keep Subscribing and Saving on this product with twelve packs of two (24 rolls) when this product containing four packs of six (also 24 rolls) is 39% less expensive for the same number of towels: Seventh Generation White Paper Towels, 2-ply, 140-sheet Rolls, 6-Count (Pack of 4)

I really hoped that these 100% recycled paper towels would be something that I would like, and that they would be something that I would want to keep on buying. With all the waste that we add to the environment daily, this type of thing really matters to me... However, with this being said, I found that these paper towels were just much too thin, did not hold up well at all, and overall they underperformed when compared to most any other brand name paper towel. In fact, I found that I was having to use 2 or 3 times the amount of paper towels when using these when wiping up spills, cleaning, etc. because of the fact that the towels just kept tearing up and/or falling apart.

For the price of these, I would not recommend nor buy these again. I really hoped that I would have great luck using Seventh Generation paper towels as I do with their other products, but this time it just didn't happen.

This is quite a good product. If nobody told you, it would be pretty hard to tell that this was at least 50% post-consumer waste......

Watch your back Brawny, here comes seventh generation!

I feel that this product basically soaks up spills well. Perhaps it is not quite as absorbent as your typical name brand paper towel, but nevertheless it is enough for regular household use.

The most helpful review, written by SouthFlorida, is in my opinion a bit outdated. It's about 1 1/2 years old by now. I do believe that this was the reality of the product back in 2012, but to me it seems that times have changed, Seventh Generation products are improving steadily, and other name-brand paper towels are running on fumes.

I mostly use this for heavy spills. It has proven itself time and time again capable of doing the job. I have no problems with the product tearing apart. Also, most prominently, this product is hypoallergenic, 100% recycled, and incorporates no dyes or fragrances.
In general, I feel that this is a good product; a great idea with reasonable execution. Sometime in the near future I may give this a five-star review. That is, only when seventh generation comes up-to-par with Brawny, Scott, Viva, Bounty, etc.

It's nice to know these paper towels are made from recycled products and that, in using them, you're not totally defiling the earth and gumming up the waste stream completely. That said, they're not the best-performing paper towels I've ever seen. I guess that's the tradeoff between green and... whatever is the opposite of green. The towels are a little thin, and they don't rip particularly elegantly along the perforation. But they do all the other paper towel stuff you want: they clean up messes, they work as decent informal dinner napkins.

I've been buying these paper towels through Amazon for several years, and have always found them to be quite satisfactory. I really appreciate the fact that they are made from recycled paper, and they are the best recycled paper towel I have tried--not hard and scratchy like some, and not prone to leaving a sticky residue when wiping something wet (like one of the other popular recycled paper brands sold at the nation's largest retailer).

But now something has changed. These towels came chemically perfumed in the last shipment, rendering them almost useless in my home unless they can be aired out enough to stop smelling. I don't know what has changed; they never smelled of chemical perfumes before. If you like the new perfumed laundry products, this won't bother you, but I hate the chemical perfumes that are being added to so many cleaning products and laundry products, and don't want to have those smells in my home.

I contacted Seventh Generation to ask if they had started scenting their towels, and they said absolutely not. The outer carton in which Amazon shipped them to me was not perfumed. So, my guess is that they got scented in Amazon's warehouse, or in being shipped to Amazon.

It does seem that the perfume smell goes away if the rolls are aired out long enough in fresh air. In any case, I'm going to look for another seller to see if I can get these unscented somewhere else, even though there is no way that others are likely to be able to match Amazon's price.
