Warning, made from cheap metal and breaks easily!!!

I've had two of these aftermarket ones break on me. It's a pain to replace them, and they only last about 6 - 12 months.

Go buy the OEM from the dealer. You will be so, so, so happy you did when you realize you don't have to repair and replace them all the time.

Too poorly made for doors on vehicles this big.

Perfect replacement for driver side front door on mt 1995 Chevrolet Suburban. I wish they had included a sheet metal screw which is required (the original handle uses a rivet that must be drilled out) but the quality of the handle feels as good as the original. The original lasted for almost 20 years - hopefully this one will last the rest of the life of the truck.

Product looked like original. It installed easily. However, the door lock button would not move up far enough to disengage the lock, either by direct pressure or by the electric switch. No amount of adjusting or lubricating would alter this. So in desparation, I removed the handle ( which was the original problem..was broken) and basically used my old piece and installed the metal handle to it. Therefore, my original door lock button was reused and worked correctly, the door handle now worked again and all went together well. I do feel I wasted money buying the whole "package" when all I really needed (and could use) was the metal door lever/handle. The remaing plastic piece was useless, as the door lock button it came with would not move far enough to unlock the door. Hopefully, the metal handle I used is of better construction than the remaining pieces...

I installed this left side door handle on a 99 GMT400 1 ton pickup. It works great and fits right, but it didnt come with anything to replace the rivit you need to drill out when replacing the handle. It should include something so you are not left scrambling for something that will work.

The only thing I see different between this unit and the OEM piece I replaced on my 96 Silverado is that the handle is plastic on the unit sent and the OEM handle is cast pot metal. Everything else on the unit is perfect. The plastic handle is not a deal breaker for me and works as intended.
