These DMC floss bobbins are made from sturdy cardboard that doesn't rip when you punch them out of their cards (they come four to a card and are easy to punch). There is room on the top right corner to pencil in the DMC floss number, too. I prefer these cardboard bobbins over plastic ones, as it's difficult to write on most plastic bobbins.

These cardboard spools are fine. They are better than some cheaper more flimsy brands, but seriously, am I the only floss user that wants a sturdier spool? I got the plastic spools and they are great, but how do you get the numbers on them? I bought the little stick-on numbers and I was thrilled at first....but they don't stick. So, right now I use a plastic and a cardboard together, so I can write on the cardboard and get the stiffness of the plastic.

I very much like the cardboard floss bobbins because they hold the thread on the bobbin and don't come undone. The plastic ones are too small and the floss ALWAYS comes off the the bobbins. I will always use the cardboard ones from now on.

There are 56 of these cards, and yes, they could be a little thicker, but since most of my floss is from kits, I don't have to wrap a huge amount around them. It is perfect to help me keep my floss from getting tangled or misplaced. They work for me!

I love these things! Embroidery floss, as we all know, starts "falling apart" the more you use it (meaning the wrapping falls off). I had a mess in my embroidery basket. I was storing the floss in individual baggies, but that was getting a bit expensive. Every penny counts! These are perfect. They were inexpensive, obviously easy to use, and sturdy unless you abuse them or actually TRY to tear them apart. And I love that you can write the number on them! Plus they take up less room in my basket! :)

These helped me get my box of floss organized and pretty. I could write the number of the floss right on the bobbin, making the paper bobbins way more useful than the sturdier plastic ones. Time will tell how well they stand up to repeated use, but I'm sure they will be fine for my purposes.

these cards are just ok....i would love to find the ones we used to be able to buy that were a thicker cardboard....i prefer the cardboard over the plastic so i am not sure what i am going to do for the other bobbins that i am in need of...may have to resort to making some myself....any suggestions would be appreciated

The other ones are so cheep and you are lucky if you get through a skein before they are no good and the plastic do not ever keep the numbers on even with the permanent markers. These are perfect and I am redoing my floss collection with them.
