I received the tinkle belt in a size smaller than the one I ordered. I did not return it because there was a note saying that they were out of the larger size and would send me one free of charge as soon as a new shipment was received. I waited rather patiently--perhaps too patiently--for the replacement, and when weeks had gone by, I finally contacted Tinkle Belts, but to date have received no response.

The band itself was narrow, but it appeared to be well made. I have opted for the Simple Solutions Male Wrap. The Tinkle Belt may have some advantages in that it is tighter fitting, but the wrap's wider width seems to suit my larger dog's needs.

I like this one much better than the simple solution male diaper, because the Tinkle Belt is cotton, and fits better. These characteristics are important because the simple solutions large size was for dogs 35-90 pounds, quite a range, and they make it fit with tight elastic along the edges. My dog is only 45 pounds and the elastic gave him sores on the tender old skin on his belly. The Tinkle belt cotton breathes better than the synthetic materials of the other, too.

The construction is high-quality, with an adjustable amount of velcro, smartly positioned to give about 2 inches of adjustability. The belt fits inconspicuously and the denim material is less obvious than teal green, too. I mean, my poor old dog is embarrassed enough with his leaking without having people remark on his diaper.

My dog is 22" around his waist, so I ordered a Large Tinkle Belt. I will order several more in XL, because it did shrink a bit with several washings.

I'd rather have several and wash them than use throw-away pads, because with using the pads (on the simple solution model), sometimes it collected and sometimes missed and I had to wash it anyway; plus less junk for the landfill!

I just found out that the folks who make these can customize them, sizing and adding extra layers of diaper material to the belt (where it collects), so it would be a bit longer before the urine leaks through.

These diapers are nicely made, but limited. They may work fine for dogs that mark a bit, or sprinkle lightly from sheer delight or enthusiasm. But if your dog is having full-blown accidents, they're probably not going to do the job by themselves. They're just not thick enough or absorbent enough to handle a medium-large dog's normal volume of urine when he empties his bladder.

A few years back our then-50lb dog was experiencing frequent urinary tract infections. We took our vet's advice and had a bladder stone removed. He stopped having such frequent UTIs, but he went from 6-9 hours of bladder control to around 4-5.

Unfortunately, that isn't too compatible with a normal work day. We cleaned up a lot. Now that he's even older and has declining kidney function, he drinks more water and urinates even more often, and in truly epic volumes. So the situation's gotten kind of dire.

I had high hopes for Tinkle Belts and ordered two in XL. They seemed a bit on the large side, but the velcro allowed an adequate fit (and they do shrink with repeated washings). We quickly found that his urine volume was far more than the diaper could hold. We still got major puddles.

I added stick-on disposable men's underwear guards. That helped, but he still fountained past the pad and belt most of the time. Adding a second pad and belt in front of the first helped a lot, so I ordered 2 more, this time in size L. I used the L belts on his waist, and the XL belts in front of them.

Even with two belts, he still leaked fairly often (though in smaller quantities, thank goodness). We finally got a fully leakproof solution by adding a *third* Tinkle belt yet further forward (this time without the underwear guard). This helps keep the whole array in place.Read more ›

There once was a chubby little bichon named Sweeney. The medium was too small to use with any pads, and the large was sooo big that he ran at the sight of it. When I mentioned this to the TBelt folks, they made me a large one that was the same girth, but much more narrow, and sent it to me for FREE. Actually, they sent me two of them.

This is the type of customer service that you want, everywhere. They didn't just offer me a refund but rather a solution. This is a terrific product, by the way. Sweeney was very fond of marking his territory, then his older sister Stella, another bichon, would join him, and when his cousin bichons Keegan & Kerry would visit, they would party as well. By stopping Sweeney, we have now broken the cycle of abusing my rugs and chair legs, hopefully forever.

You folks at Tinkle Belts are the best.

I Love the belts. I own 10. For this last purchase, I used the Tinkle Belt to hold in place the surgical dressings/medicated bandages for my service dog's infected groin area (he had been bitten by a bee!). He couldn't get to the Velcro mechanism to take off and he couldn't shake it off, either! Even with the preventive neck collar (the one that vets give out so that pets can't reach their muzzles to a wounded site), my dog was able to find his way to his groin, tear off the dressing, then lick off all the medicated cream, too! (Boy did he get sick!). The product is beautifully crafted, velvety soft. My experience with the sellers is positive. They wrote me back right away with the answer to my question. By the way, for my first 3 belts, I had ordered the wrong size. I had the right size in just 3 days.
