I first used Snark tuners in the clip on style. I've always avoided clip on tuners because they never worked well. The Snark changed my mind the first time I tried one, and I subsequently bought one. When I needed a tuner for my teenaged son to carry in his guitar case, I naturally looked at the Snark line. the SN-3 was a recent addition at the time so I gave it a shot. It is accurate, fast, and very user-friendly. We're very happy with the product. The reason I chose this model was because the clip on variety has a tendency to break where the post between the tuner and the clip joins the clip. It's still usable, but not as a clip on any longer. With the SN-3 you get all of the good with none of the bad--a real no-brainer.

This tuner is easy to use but I don't like the metronome. Although the description doesn't mention this, the metronome changes the tone every fourth beat. That makes it hard to start and stop without waiting when practicing scales, and really hard if you want to play another time (like 3/4). The directions I got don't say how to change or turn this off.

Just started playing acoustic and the instructor I am connected with has multiple metronomes / tuners that he paid anywhere from $50 - $150 or more for, and he is blown away by the simplicity and accuracy of this unit. I like the functionality of being able to use it across both acoustic and electric with the internal jack. For the money, don't know that you could find another unit with this value.

I love the way this tuner works, with a bright screen and easy to use controls. The metronome feature is also a nice addition. It's a bit lightweight, making it seem like it wont last very long if even dropped once, but it hit the floor many times on me already and it's still going strong :-) This is a great tuner at an even better price, try it out and see for yourself!

It's a tuner. Picked up my bass with no issues and reasonably quickly. No problems with tracking drop D on a 4 string bass, though it did track quicker using the 12th fret harmonic. Display is bright enough to see onstage (tested onstage, not "I think it's bright enough for stage use). It's not incredibly precise (tested it alongside a good software tuner, and the result is that I wouldn't use the Snark SN3 for intonation setup), but it's good enough for live work.
