We are using this in the lyme and coinfection protocol our family is doing. The price, packaging, and amount of time in delivery were all great. I did however change brands, due to finding a higher count, and the mg. amount needed in protocol.

Astragalus has been shown to sustain the length of telomeres, telomeres are the end caps of chromosomes. Some research shows that telomere length is related to longevity and I believe cancer prevention. I love the theory, so I rated this a five. I will re-rate in fifty years to inform you of the actual results.

I get a distinct smokey smell from the bottle. Opening a cap the taste of the astragalus is lightly smokey (hickory?). I think this is due to the gatherers, whoever they may be, drying the fresh roots with a wood fire. I have also noticed smokiness in green tea for the same reason--the drying with wood fire. No good for me. A friend, a professional herbalist, told me astragalus should smell and taste somewhat like green peas. He did not evaluate this product, so I'm on my own. Smoke is not what I want to ingest, so I'm going to assume I'm rite and discontinue taking this product,but not return it, and take the loss. I could be wrong, and while I stew in self-doubt, but my nose knows!
