My car is a 2005 CTS and the years started to take a toll on the shine. So a few weeks ago I washed with Meguiar's Gold Class Wash, then used the meguiars clay bar and ultimate wax. The car looked much better but still not as good as I wanted. I usually skip the polish step of the process but today I spent 3 hours doing it right. Wash, Clay Bar, Polish, then wax. The polish made a big difference.

It's not a miracle worker so it could not remove several large scratches but it does a great job eliminating the small scratches and swirl marks that form in the paint over the years.

The car look like new and I've owned it for almost 8 years now.

Highly recommend.

Great product. I recently HAND APPLIED this to my '09 Altima (Never polished, only waxed), and was satisfied with the results. It removed swirls (which I though were fairly deep at the time) excellent, and gave my Navy Blue a deep glossy color. (Better than when I bought it new). Hairline scratches were removed, but not so much mild/deep scratches, as expected with an hand applicator.
As instructed on the bottle, DO NOT ALLOW TO DRY!!! I was able to apply it correctly ~90% on the vehicle, after testing on a small area. (Some instances, it dried it up without notice) I ended up using too much polish ,in order to prevent it from drying. Would recommend 1'x1' area for beginners or weak arms.

Will update on water spots, as my vehicle did not have any at the time.

Ever since I bought my new Acura MDX, I got obsessed with keeping it nice looking as I enjoy driving a shiny and clean car!
I use this product before applying the wax and after the using the ultimate compound, as mentioned in the video.
In terms of the wash mitt, it holds a lot of soapy water, which makes the cleaning fast and easy, much better than the old sheep skin type mitt. It's also super soft, which gives me a peace of mind of not scratching the paint.
I'm pretty new to detailing cars, thus I found the following products really easy and simple to use, even for me as a beginner:

1. Meguiar's X3002 Microfiber wash mitt
2. Meguiar's G7164 gold class car wash shampoo & conditioner
3. Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound
4. Meguiar's G19216 Ultimate Polish
5. Meguiar's G17516 Ultimate Quik Wax

I also watched the videos that shows all the steps and it gives me great results.

I have a 2007 Audi that needed a little love, paint is in great shape but definitely not like new (minor scratches).I did everything by hand on a cloudy cool day using foam applicator pads and microfiber towels. First, I washed the car by hand using Meguiar's car wash detergent (Deep Crystal car wash). Then, I used Mother's clay kit; it was amazing, everything they said and more. Little specs of dirt would build on the clay every section (about one door panel at a time). Post-clay, the car was absolutely smooth and all bug bits and other crud (including tiny loose paint bits or road tar, I couldnt tell since the car is black) were gone. Next, I used this Meguiar's Ultimate Polish. It was absolutely beautiful. I applied it w a Meguiar's foam pad applicator and followed the instructions not allowing it to dry. It was a perfect mirror surface w a totally smooth squeaky clean feel. It got rid of swirls and minor scratches just like the bottle says. If it contained wax, I would have been finished but I followed w wax to protect all of that hard work I had done to get that surface looking like a mirror. The car looked incredible. One spot needed Ultimate Compound to remove a smudge where something (grocery cart?) had left a deposit on the car. I finished up w Meguiar's Nxt gen tech 2 wax. I think any wax would have done a great job on such a great surface, but I picked this because Consumer Reports gives it top ranking for liquid waxes. The car now looks incredible, better than the day we bought it.
On a sad note, a giant seagull dropped a gift on the hood of our 2013 audi. Neither Meguiar's Ultimate Compound or the Polish have been able to completely remove the uric acid etching on the clear coat. They have helped, and the outline of the poop is now only visible to me, but it's there.Read more ›

This works beautifully with a random orbital buffer, it gave my black paint a deeper presence and all of the smaller issues the other compounds left behind was taken care of by this bad boy...awesome. Granted I did use this in combination with the Ultra-Cut Compound & Ultimate Compound...but by itself it worked great! I highly suggest someone who is using this compound to use it in combination with the other products Meguiar's has to offer. Will NOT disappoint!

This is a dynamite product, easy on-easy off, great results!

I used it on a 14 year old Lexus with white metallic paint. Although the car has been well cared for, it had amassed its share of swirls, light scratches and bonded contaminants. I thought for sure I was going to have to clay it first, but as that's a step I am not fond of, I thought I would take a chance and try the polish alone, I'm sure glad I did.

I applied the polish by hand. Afterward, the car felt absolutely smooth to the touch, and many of the previously mentioned defects were either gone or faded into the background. The paint was shiny, with depth and brilliance restored.

After carefully wiping off all the excess polish, I gave the paint a "quick detail" with a detailing spray to make sure all the dust was removed before waxing. I followed this with one coat of Carnauba Wax. The result was outstanding. I have never seen white paint give off such clarity, depth, gloss and reflectivity. The surface of the car is now smooth to the touch and the envy of many of the mechanics over at the Lexus dealership when I went in to buy some parts yesterday.

I think that the Ultimate Polish is a great product, at a very fair price. I highly recommend it.

Ps. I did use a more slightly more aggressive pad to apply the polish. It's called a Polishing pad (as opposed to a finishing pad) Used with a hand held pad holder called a Polishing Pal (available on Amazon). All work was done by hand, following Meguiar's instructions for multiple passes over each section.
