Functions perfectly in my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited with a Pioneer DEH-80PRS. Though not listed in the vehicle programming index, I followed the instructions for a 1992-1998 Chrysler vehicle. This idea came from comparing the instructions to other PAC steering wheel interface instructions. Programming is very simple.

Installed in a 2012 Scion IQ: connect the white wire to pin 7 and 8 (pin 8 needs a 560 ohm resistor (included with the kit its the green brown and red one I believe) of the CAR harness and pin 6 to ground (don't forget this as the reason it took me so long and wouldn't work is because I didn't ground it and took me forever to figure out why, so you need to ground the PAC unit as well to pin 6 in parallel or independent. Another note for Toyota's as the scion does double duty as the track forward and reverse is also used for radio and other sources. When I programmed it to radio forward back it worked great but when I switched to the other sources it would not work which was frustrating. I finally figured out to skip the radio portion and programmed the track forward back and now all the features work great including source and volume so the PAC kept all the promises made. Its intimidating at first but just follow the directions and FYI the ones with the unit suck balls, go directly to the PAC website as they can give you specific install instruction for your exact stereo. Would recommend to anyone just take your time.

This guy has recently stopped working correctly in our '02 Odyssey 2 months after install. It could be related to my superior wiring skills or my unwillingness to accept resistors into my life. Either way, this module is sealed away in its tomb waiting to confound the wiring complexity based dating models of future archeologists . . . or until I get a free Saturday afternoon.

Assuming the robots do win and employ us as more than fleshy batteries I will be well prepared to translate their flashes and beep-boops for my fellow slave-humans. jk, the programming wasn't too bad. I got it on the third try.

Used this one to hook up my old school Alpine CDA-D852 (built 1999) to the SWC of my Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ 5.9L built 1998.
Works like a charm, even gives you the possibility to have alternative functions assigned to your SWC buttons (limited number of alternative functions available by the SWC interface)
Although the manufacturer does not officially support the Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ on its web page, the PAC SWI-RC can easly be hooked up to a Jeep GRand Cherokee ZJ: Just set the SWI-RC to car mode 2, uses the green wire and connect it to the black/orange wire running from the steering wheel down.
Alternatively search for installation instructions here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f197/ejschultz-build-thread-1012740/

I did the installation and setup myself when I installed a new stereo. The installation is not for the mechanically and electrically uninclined. It's not overly complex but it will require you to splice the wires from the adapter to the wires going into the new head unit. The exact instructions will vary from vehicle to vehicle, and vehicle specific instructions are available through the manufacture's website.

Regardless of the vehicle; you will need to purchase some wire splices, or you will need to solder the wires together.

Setup is pretty straight forward as well. The steering wheel controls are completely customizable. After the physical installation I had my steering wheel control working in about 10 minutes.

I did have one issue with the controller though. One very cold morning (-10F) the steering wheel controls did not respond until the car warmed up. However I have not had this issue since.

More than just the fact that I got a defective one, I'm also going to mention that PAC's customer service is pretty poor. I tried to install one of these but couldn't get it to fire up, even with a solid +12V and a very good ground (fully crimped and tested connections throughout). I decided to reach out to the manufacturer for insight, but it turns out the only time they respond quickly is if they think they can shut you down by claiming your power and ground must not be good enough.

I cut it out, wired up a Metra AWSC-1 to the exact same +12V and ground, and it worked the first time. Threw the junk PAC SWI-RC back in the package and sent it right back to Amazon. Even if it had worked, the amount of wiring you need to bundle up is insane, the wires themselves are super skinny (if power and ground are so critical, why use such thin wiring?), and the programming method is dense. They also require you to hack into the wiring harness where the AWSC-1 doesn't.

I installed this on a 2005 Tacoma interfaced to a Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. It works but you need to know how to program this and the website instructions are limited as is PAC Technical Support. So, if you are a Toyota Tacoma 2005 and beyond owner with steering wheel controls that include Volume +/-, Track/Preset ^/v, and Mode, this is how you need to program your SWI-RC to get all of the steering wheel controls to work as you expect:

1. Rotary Switch should be set to 7.
2. SWI-RC should be set to Program Version 8.
3. Pin 6 should be connected to ground.
4. Pin 7 should be connected to the vehicle connector white wire.
5. Pin 8 should be connected to the vehicle connector white/black wire.

When mapping the steering wheel buttons, use the following:
1. Map Volume Up to your steering wheel Vol + button.
2. Map Volume Down to your steering wheel Vol - button.
3. Skip Mute
4. Skip Preset + (this will actually work even though it is skipped)
5. Skip Preset - (this will actually work even though it is skipped)
6. Map Source to your steering wheel Mode button.
7. Map Track Up to your steering wheel Track "<<<DOWN>>>" button.
8. Map Track Down to your steering wheel Track "<<<UP>>>" button.
9. Skip
10. Skip
11. Skip
12. Skip
13. Skip

If you map your buttons in this fashion, the steering wheel Track Up/Down buttons will work on the HD Radio and they will also work on your other music sources like the SD Card and Android Auto. The instructions may work for other Toyota models as well (not sure).

TIPS: as others have said, use the http://www.pac-audio.
