This ashtray looks nice. It's holds alot and the spinning mechanism works great. Unfortunately, the cigarette tray isn't deep enough. A full size, newly lit cigarette will not stay in the ashtray because it's almost level when it's resting in the tray. This also means the ashes don't do a good job of staying the ashtray and they pile up on the surface of whatever the ashtray is sitting on. The ashtray would have gotten 5 stars if it was just deeper so that it contained the ashes and held a lit cigarette in place.

This ashtray is pretty good sized (bigger than I thought). The spinning function is awesome and pushes everything down. Keeps the mess down and your table looking a lot more organized. I hate the big pile of butts I get with a regular ashtray. This spinner allows me to be lazy and only empty every 2-3 days, lol. Can't go wrong with this one.

After 20 years not smoking, my wife started up again. Smokes outside. Wind was blowing the butts and ashes all over the place. I finally bought this and... She loves it! I love the fact that the butts and ashes stay in the bottom until she removes it. Really great!

Yes, it can hold a lot of butts. But...

The problems are that you lay a lit cigarette on it at your own risk--they are not held at all by the little grooves, and they're very easy to knock onto the floor. This was the first stupid design choice--no secure place to park your lit ciggie.

The second problem is the "spokes" that don't move and thus collect ash. You have to knock this off manually.

Third, the spin mechanism, while pleasing to use and solid, can spin lit butts right off the surface onto your floor if you don't start the downward push slowly; and if you go too slow to the bottom, your butts may not fall inside, instead getting stuck. You must start slowly and accelerate for proper functioning.

Fourth, my idiot friend didn't have a clue where to place his butt, and tried extinguishing it on the top of the black plastic. (Not the devices fault, I suppose, but I've never had this problem with any other ash tray.)

I don't know why this thing has so many positive reviews. The looks don't make up for the disappointing and dangerous functioning.

And yes, it can hold a few packs worth of cigarette butts. Please use this thing with caution.

This is our second unit. Works better than the first so I'll rate it 3. The first one began sticking and stopped spinning. This one works, press the button and it spins the cigarette into the base. One issue is it started to get stuck when it's rainy outside but goes back to normal when it warms up. I don't know what that's all about.

Awesome! I originally bought this for my car as I didn't even look at the size; I honestly just thought it looked small in the pictures(totally my fault and I laughed at it cause who does that?! Lol) but this works very well on a table of course! Spinning aspect is kinda cool, I don't even smoke cigarettes; only the green 😌, but I even like spinning it! Haha. The smell gets trapped inside and you can't smell anything so it's ideal for inside if that's how you burn. It's cool!! Recommend it! Delivered quickly!

This ashtray was one of many that I researched before buying. It reminds me of the old 'sandbag' ashtrays that had the spinner on the top. This however has a stainless top and bottom and is big enough to hold a lot of butts. The only time the spinner has issues is when the canister is starting to get full, which is my 'clue' to empty it! Very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Not bad for an ashtray. My husband was using one of those plastic cup type ones, but it was ugly and hard to get clean....and did I mention it was ugly? This one keeps the smell contained, is easier to clean and is a bit more attractive. I wish there was an option that wasn't shiny chrome.
