We had our doubts, but purchased this on summer clearance. My 8 year old child can make shaved ice very easily. One recommendation is to let ice melt 10-15minutes before putting it in the shaver.

I bought one of these at Winn Dixie, sale price $3.50. Used it today for the first time--and the last time. It take so much pressure on the crank that you'll think your arm is going to fall off by the time you get a cup or two of ice out of it. Maybe I'll ask Steve Austin if he wants it; it's no use to me.

I would give it no stars if possible. There is no why my 5 yr old could do this, I have a hard time with it. One hand has to put pressure and hold it in place an the other hand you have to forcefully crank it. Just with the first use as I was cranking it pieces started breaking off,;the handle, the a couple different pieces that hold the ice. This machine is junk!

Does what it is suppose to do that is shave ice! The handle sucks to turn but i got mine for $4.75 so I cant argue! Would I pay $15 No but for not even $5 you cant go wrong! If I was you pay a little extra for an electric one.nIts worth the extra $10-$15
