I bought this battery because at the time I reviewed it, it appeared to have higher reviews than the other Samsung replacement batteries in spite of its much higher cost. After purchase, I started noticing buyers reporting the batteries received would not hold a charge, were not packaged, etc. etc. In my case, the battery arrived today, in a plastic baggie and nothing else except a note as to who to call if it does meet expectations and that the seller is eager for full satisfaction from purchasers. I do not know, yet, whether it will hold a charge. I can only hope. I am initially scoring this a one star until I have had an opportunity to have experience with the battery since it did not come in original packaging. I will post a follow up and if the battery proves to do well, I will happily adjust my rating.

Update Mar. 3:
So far, the battery is holding a charge reasonably well. Have only recharged it once since purchase.
Conceivably, it is a new battery sent in a Baggie to reduce shipping weight. I have raised rating to 3 stars and will update further once I have used it for a month.

The battery is working fine. The fit was perfect and the talk time, etc. is similar to the original battery. I had an opportunity to review my original concerns with the company and learned that the batteries are purposefully removed from the packaging for testing since there had previously been some complaints of batteries sent in the original packaging being defective. By removing them and testing them the company can better determine if the ones they are shipping are working properly. Finally my old battery was not holding a charge well, so I hunted down this replacement. It came very carefully packaged and I followed the instructions, charging it for the first time for at least 12 hours. Now my phone holds a charge for days when I'm not using it much. I have not seen a reduction in this over the past two weeks, so I assume this will continue to work well over time. I have nothing but good things to say about this supplier and product.

I got the new battery and put it in my phone and threw the old one away. I had read somewhere that it takes a few charge cycles to reach its full capacity. Unfortunately it didn't hold a charge any better than the one I threw away. I sent an email explaining my problem and had a new battery within 3 days...no questions asked. The new battery works perfectly. This is why I buy from Amazon.

Made no difference in the length of time phone stays charged. Still have to charge phone in the morning and during the day. According to my friends, I seldom use the phone. On the rare occasion I have a long conversion, the phone is connected to the charger. Texting is short and seldom. Phone is for emergencies. Still, I would like to go all day without having to charge it. -

Did not receive in a new unopened package was in a plastic baggie. Gave it a chance stayed charged for first week or so. Now it dies every day will not stay charged for a day. They are used batteries. very un happy with this purchase. Do not buy these they are used batteries not original new ones.

It's a replacement, genuine OEM battery that matches the original spec. Not much more to say. The phone's original battery could no longer reliably hold a charge, and replacing it with this one brought the phone back into usefulness. If you need a replacement battery, this is a good one.

It doesn't hold the charge any more than the battery I replaced. The Samsung Intensity cellphone was discontinued and is obsolete. These batteries, even though "new", most likely degraded while sitting in the warehouse over the years.
