I had a problem with about 3 feet square of tiles coming off the side of a plaster pool in several places. Fortunately, it was not structural (it was a coping issue).

This stuff really does work. It looks and reacts very much like much of the caulk available for bathtub use, although unlike those products this doesn't clean up with water. It helps to have all the surfaces completely dry, although I discovered that even if one of the surfaces is wet (I dropped a tile in the water), it will still stick and hold.

You'll need a solid surface underneath, so scrape off any loose grout or concrete. Apply to either the back of the tile or the wall, press very firmly into place, and your tiles set into place right away. Within an hour, they're pretty much on there and within a day, they're on there for good.

Since the stuff sticks so well, and you'll use it for grout, be aware that this stuff is hard to wipe off. I didn't bother trying to clean the face of the tiles until it was dry, then I used a soft (plastic) scrubber as a way to get it the tiles. The small pieces of dried caulk will float, so your filter should pick them up.

It works very well, and I guess I'll see over the years if this sticks over the long-term, but for now, I'm very pleased.

One complaint -- there are no instructions with this product either on the tube, and the manufacturer's website. You'll figure it out, but there should be something somewhere that tells you more about application, surface preparation, etc.

Update: It is quite difficult to remove this stuff from the tile face once it dries. I would recommend not waiting more than 2-3 hours or be prepared for a lot of work.Read more ›

Used for pool tile and skimmer and it held well. Super tacky and messy so be careful. Followed with grout because this is the adhesive only. No directions on or in tube as this is meant for professionals who are supposed to know what they are doing.
