I was disappointed with this construction vest. It is made of a thin paperlike material. We also purchased the Melissa and Doug Construction Costume. Much better quality but of course it was more expensive too.

Initially exciting, but it smells like cheap chemicals and will clearly rip easily. I saw something around the same price and of better quality in a local box store.

I wasn't expecting much for the price, but it was a little lower quality than I thought. I somehow got the impression this was a cheap mesh, it's actually some kind of stiff material that reminds me of that papery kind of landscaping fabric. I'm not saying I'm concerned of my son using it or anything, I just see it not lasting all that long. My son is two and small for his age, so this thing is huge on him. He's about 32 inches tall and this comes down past his knees and can wrap around him. It would be kind of cute if he wasn't annoyed by how big and in the way it is, being a stiff material. In another year, he'll probably have fun with it.

First off, this vest is sized more for an older child, 8-10 yrs. old, than for toddlers. I doubt it will hold up long due to its papery material. It doesn't even have a simple velcro closure to keep it on the child. Even for the price, I don't think it's worth it. Wouldn't recommend.

This vest goes with the hard hat and safety glasses for my grandson when using his "Big Digger." Since he rarely "dresses up" it has worked out well for his 2 year old sister - she just puts on the gear and goes to the sandbox to play with her toys while he works on his construction projects.

I was impressed with these for my son's 2nd birthday party because they are not made out of cheap plastic, but they are made out of the same material many reusable bags are, providing a sturdy context for all the construction workers at your party to do their jobs! A must for the guests at your construction themed party.

I read some complaints about the quality, but it seems strong enough for play as long as it doesn't get caught on something. It is, however, much too wide for my 4-year-old's body. My wife used a sewing machine to narrow it.
