I have no complaint concerning the product itself. I buy it because it's the only 'organic' pesticide free mini-shredded wheat currently available. I searched the Internet at some length - and it appears Arrowhead Mills is the only supplier of organic mini-shredded wheat. It's the price I'm complaining about.

Heretofore, I was purchasing Trader Joe's Mini-Shredded Wheat - 17.2oz box @ $2.69. I was totally 'dumb and happy' with their product - until it dawned on me, although it was 100% whole-wheat, it wasn't organic. That meant I was ingesting pesticides.

On May 9, 2013, I ordered 12 boxes of 12oz boxes of Organic Arrowhead Mills shredded wheat from Amazon at $4.49 per 12oz box. Currently, Amazon is offering 6 boxes for $40.31. That's $6.94 per 12oz box. That's outrageous! I found that Vitacost offered the product for $4.79 per box. I ordered 12 boxes from Vitacost.

Using Trader Joe's as my reference standard - one 17.2oz box for $2.69 {non-organic}, I willingly paid $4.49 per 12oz box from Amazon in May of this year. Currently, Amazon appears to have increased their price to $6.72 per 12oz box. I find that unacceptable. I'm currently paying Vitacost $4.79 per box.

Great product. Price is too high.

I've eaten a bowl of this cereal each morning for 10 or more years. I used to buy it at a food co-op near where I used to live and would still buy it there when I visited. However, their supply became erratic, and I found the cereal at Amazon. I've ordered it from Amazon four or five times now, and it's always at my doorstep within a day or two. Arrowhead Mills Shredded Wheat is a simple, nutritious, flavorful cereal. It is a natural grain (wheat) product without lots of sweeteners and has been consistent in flavor and quality over the many years I have eaten it.
