This is a very nice piece of equipment for the price. It is not top of line or commercial quality, but it will serve just fun for home use. I looked at many of the reviews for this Roman Chair before purchasing and kept in mind some of the negatives that people have shared. Let me share my findings.
1) Packaging does come double boxed and packed well. If anything comes damaged it was severely mishandled or it came like that from the factory. In either case just ask Amazon for an exchange. See uploaded picture of packaging.
2) This is a very sturdy Roman Chair. There were some complaints about wobbling but that is because the bolts are not tightened all the way. I tightened the bolts and then realized that it wobbled side to side. You have to use A LOT of force to tighten these bolts. You will need an adjustable wrench and use both hands to tighten the bolts. I found that I had to lay it on its side to make things easier. If you have a Ratchet set with larger sockets you might have an easier time tightening. I had to use some brute force and leverage to get things tight enough. Once tight though it DOES NOT wobble. The only part that will wobble a little bit is the center bar that adjust up and down. If you have it adjusted to a higher length it will naturally wobble a bit. This is just the design of the equipment. If you set it lower it hardly moves at all.
3) There were some complaints about the padding being positioned too far apart. I believe the problem has more to do with incorrect height adjustment. I had it set too high at first and the padding was really uncomfortable. Once I found the proper setting it wasn't much of an issue.
4) As far as the traction pads for the feet, I have no problem with them at all.Read more ›

07/19/2012: This hyperextension seems to have a durable frame. I've used it for back exercises and it seems pretty durable. My only complaint is that some pieces are plastic, which is never good on gym equipment, but they are out of the way from use. Also the position to raise and lower really sticks. I applied some white lithium grease to loosen it up and it wouldn't work. I figure once you set your height for a home gym you most likely wont raise or lower it. The padding is very comfortable and the assembly took me 10 minutes. It has an allen, but I recommend using a metric ratcheting wrench. I forget the mm, but I think it was around 16. Other than that I highly recommend this product. Feel free to ask questions if you have any.
