After photographing 400+ events I have accumulated a sea of external drives and matching power supplies to drives is time consuming. Plus, they're not protected at all and not neatly organized. A system with one power supply and a series of stored protected drives is a dream come true. A much cleaner neater system. Anyone generating lots of files needs to look at this product.

I backup my desktop computer on bare HDDs. Storing them in antistatic sleeves is awkward and time consuming. Keeping the HDDs rattling around loose in a drawer makes finding a particular HDD difficult and also time consuming; it also subjects the HDDs to potential impact damage. The ProStorage 18 and ProStorage24 make corralling and accessing HDDs much easier and they are protected from shock by the foam. Since the foam is antistatic, HDDs are also protected from electrostatic discharge, eliminating the hassle of removing and replacing antistatic sleeves on the HDDs.

I already had one ProStorage 18 (actually a 24 that I cut down to 18; the vendor ran out of the 18 I had ordered and offered to send a 24 at no extra charge) that I keep in a dresser drawer to store my bare HDDs. I bought this one to ensure I would have another one for future use. I haven't seen any other product that makes storing and accessing HDDs as easy as this one does.

If anyone ever feels these are overpriced, research the cost of antistatic foam; you will find these are actually very reasonably priced!

There is no better product that I could find to safely store my drives. They protect from both shock and static. I was using old VCR tape storage to for my drives but this is so much better. They fit perfectly in standard size file cabinet drawers. Just make sure you compare the measurements whether you get this one or the smaller version. I almost bought the wrong size cabinet.
