I bought this cable to replace an inexpensive 25-ft HDMI cable that I'd bought, which failed after 11 weeks despite not being moved around much. This cable is much heavier and, as other reviewers note, comes with protective plastic braiding that will likely keep it from getting damaged as easily as such cables can sometimes be damaged. In addition, the design of the end connectors will help avoid fraying at the usual point where the cable meets the connector. I am very impressed with the quality, especially as this 16-foot cable is sold for about 30-50% of what a similar 16-ft cable would cost in virtually any store that sells them.

But then, I already knew that IOGEAR makes great quality accessories -- switches, cables, adapters, remotes, enclosures, etc. -- at very reasonable prices.

This is my 8th GEAR HDMI cable. No other cable I've found has heavy duty braiding around the cable like theirs does. And it had gold-plated plugs with removable protective plastic covers on the ends of the plugs. They come in handy for use with my laptop. Keeps the ends free of dirt between uses.
