The Thule web site specified that I get a 3118 Podium Fit Kit to mount the 460R Rapid Podium Feet to my 2012 Honda CR-V. The item description said 3118, so I ordered it, even though the photo isn't necessarily the same as what I received. The kit worked properly, however it leaves the mounting screws that mount the feet to the Honda factory rails exposed to access. I find this strange, as it defeats the purpose of the accessory locks that are supposed to secure the rack to the vehicle... which I also ordered.

As the base of 3-part system (fit kit, foot pad, bar), this set perfectly into factory channel and anchor point (Subaru Forester). The rubber makes a water resistant seal and is not scratching. Once fully assembled and then removed, the 3 small parts (rod, spacer, nut) for each foot must be secured and stored but the rest of the assembly stays as assembled.

The product worked perfectly for putting my Thule Aeroblade Edge Flush to my 2015 Kia Sedona. They are of solid construction and easy to install. The were in their original box and well packaged for shipping. I would buy from this seller again

Fit perfectly and securely. Nice, tight seal to the roof. Instructions are not much help, but installation is easy to figure out. Once installed with the cross bars, the entire assembly easily lifts off.

Bought the Thule Podium feet for my 2013 Honda CRV

Never quite got the Podium plates to fully suck in to the rails. The podium feet mount on the pre determined mounting points on the CRV rails. Unfortunately in that position the Thule bars do whistle a little at highway speeds (square bars).

That said, I did intentionally get the Thule bars over the factory rack as I already owned Thule attachments for the square bars.

My subject calls out the older tracker design and I wish they still made racks for the newer cars around this platform. You could just press a button and remove the rack. Given the whistle, it would be nice to quickly and easily remove the rack and put it on only when you need it.

The title of the review sounds pretty negative. Had a Toyota Prius and purchased a Thule roof rack which "grabs" the rain edge. That system is just terrible. Very hard to install, doesn't hold well. Hated it with a capital H. So when we bought a new car, I hesitated to purchase more Thule products. I will say the podium system for "closed" roof rails (2014 BMW X3)works reasonably well, fairly simple to install and uninstall and straight forward to add cross rails. The only negative so far is a lost cover for a podium. This cover is just decorative so I haven't replaced it. The cover is typical of marginal fit of Thule products I experienced with the Toyota rail system. At the cost of the system, Thule might want to spend a extra dollar and fix their OK but not great system.

Not thrilled with how difficult it is to install these on the car, I don't leave the racks on unless I plan on carrying something - the cross bars make too much noise in the wind, so I was hoping I could put these on and off easily.

On my BMW 535, if you install the bolts into the roof rack receptacles, they stick out at an angle so it is almost impossible to get the feet over them without pulling pretty hard on the rack to get the rack onto the second bolt. Installing the bolt through the feet after putting the rack on first is also a hit-or-miss proposition. You can loosen the feet on the bar so it can slide a bit, but that involves yet another allen wrench and more fiddling around. There just doesn't seem to be an easy way to get these things on the car. Taking them off is easier.

There is a chance I am doing something wrong, so if anyone has figured out a quicker way to get the racks onto the car, please feel free to comment and I'll revise this review.

UPDATE as of Dec. 5, 2015. Practice makes perfect, after lots of trail and error, I've figured out a process to get the racks on that is not as frustrating as described in my original review.

First, once you do get your racks on the car, make sure you tighten the larger hex head screws in order to lock the position of the feet on the bars. That way, you are not starting with a moving target. To determine if you have the optimal position of the feet on the bar, remove the hold-down washers and nuts, and then loosen the hold-down screws (i.e. the ones that screw into the car attachment points) and see if you can remove them by hand without having to use the allen wrench. If so, then you have the feet in the correct position.
