While this works in the garden, I generally prefer the thicker 'heavy duty' type for tying heavy laden tomato branches, outdoor type extension cords, etc. There are other uses that make this a favorite though. It does come in handy for tying up tall flower stems to stakes and such lighter uses and also works well to keep my birdfeeder doors closed. I have two suet feeders that can be plundered by squirrels when closed the way they are designed to be closed. For some reason, using some of this twist tie to secure the doors works perfectly. After I've reused a piece multiple times, the wire will break so then I cut a new piece. A pack lasts a long time, though, and is a good value for such outside uses.

But my favorite use for this stuff is inside, where I keep another pack. I use it to contain appliance cords. With wire snippers I cut whatever length I want and tie up the offending volume of cord. The cords can be liberated and retied as needed many times before the wire gives out. It is a really inexpensive solution to this problem. There's an even thinner version that I use for the little cables for my phone, camera and iPod and other USB type cables.

While there are products specifically designed for various cable uses, they are more expensive and tend to get lost, while this generous pack lasts and is always easy to find. This is great stuff for many things and I find having it on hand in the utility room, the garage and the potting shed is very useful. Highly recommended for multiple uses.

There are so many different ways to use this product beyond wrapping extension cords. After you cut the tie to the desired length, pull the rubber covering slightly beyond the end of the wire to cover the sharp edge, very easy to use. Great product to have around the house.

Color: Heavy Duty Green
I have used both the light and heavy duty and both are great for tomato and cucumbers - the best type of tie I've ever seen. I wish that I could buy a 100' roll. The 16' on these rolls is not enough for more than a few plants. I also would like to see an aluminum core version so that you could sterilize and reuse the ties. The wire inside rusts so the ties aren't reuseable from year to year.

This is a review for "Rapiclip Soft Twist Tie" which is made in China for Luster Leaf Products, Inc., of Woodstock, Illinois 60098. Product number SST100; length: 16 feet (4.8 meters); Outside diameter: 3/16" (about 4.5 mm); Color: black. The internal wire looks like it might be aluminum, but is not identified. Tensile strength not given. Composition of soft rubbery coating not given. Suitability for secondary stage of a conventional (pre-Brownian design) flux capacitor is excellent.

This tie is round, soft and strong. It can be twisted around itself are an object you want to hang up. You can cut it in the length you need for the job at hand. I use it on large pot plants that need to be staked but are too soft for most ties and can be damaged.

This is a pretty good product. I had been using cheap wire ties and ran out. I picked this up instead, and am surprised at how much better it is. Being thicker, it's easier to grasp and work with in tight spaces around prickly plants. It's grippy, so it holds itself pretty well. Very easy to cut with small wire cutters, and I like being able to choose my own length.

The green is nowhere near a real plant color, but it's less noticeable from a distance. Would buy again.

There is nothing else I have found that work this well. I have a small garden (42' x 20') with assorted veggies & fruits I have all growing vertically except the zucchini (it grows how it wants to). I have built a trellis for type and the foam wire i great for directing and holding the plants. A little pricy, but well worth the money.

These are pliable twist ties for the vegetable garden. They can be used to tie up your tomato plants as they grow (among other things). I used to use old rags to tie up my tomato plants. That was much cheaper than these soft twist ties, but not as nice to look at. So, if you are willing to spend a few dollars, your vegetable garden can look very nice. Also, I suppose you could use them in a flower garden too. Sometimes flowers get tall and top heavy. These ties would be ideal for attaching the flower to a stake because they are soft. Plus they are green just like the plant stalk and leaves, so the tie blends in and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.
