I used this product to finish the ends of a shoelace. I used parachute cord for the laces, wrapped the last 1/2 inch with matching thread, twisted a 1/2 inch piece of the tubing over the threaded end, and heat-shrank the tubing with a hair dryer set on high. It worked beautifully.

Use this, believe it or not, on the ends of shoe laces. Our cats for some reason just love to munch on them and chew the ends off. So when they shorten the laces, we use the shrink tubing to pull together the frayed ends instead of buying new ones every time.

I purchased this shrink tubing to cover and protect labels on whole house smart wiring. It works perfectly for my application and even though I am using a mini torch to shrink it, it holds up well to the open flame as long as you more the torch back and forth. I liked this product so much I purchased a 100 foot roll so I would have enough for other projects.

This size worked much better than the first size I ordered. Works great for rebinding shoelaces, hoodie strings, etc. The only down side is it requires a lot of heat, so you have to be very careful not to burn you laces, strings, etc. when using. I could not get it to work with a blow dryer, I had to use a heat gun. The seem to stay on and wash well.
