These are great lights (but I got them in the mail and it was just a box of bulbs so make sure you order the cord too!). We used them at my friend's patio party and they created an amazing atmosphere. However they are pretty fragile and I managed to break one already. Luckily, they are not the type of string lights that won't work if a bulb is missing, so all is well... except for the missing bulb.

As a party decoration, these lights are great. As a year-round decoration for outside the home, they are so-so due to less than optimal durability. I used these lights for over a year outside my apartment, so they were subjected to every element from North Carolina heat to North Carolina ice. The insulation on the wiring held up fine to my inspection, but as the light set aged, bulbs seemed to begin burning out prematurely. I had to replace these expensive bulbs more and more frequently over time, and this is what eventually lead me to donate them and switch to rope lights. When one of these bulbs blew out, you could never be sure which other bulbs were still okay because sometimes one blown bulb would switch other still-okay bulbs off.

On the other hand, they really provided enjoyable lighting and ambience, a welcome glow (not overpowering) when coming home from work or the store, or when welcoming guests. I love lights, so I turned them on nightly, all times of the year, using a light timer.

So if you want to use them for a brief time for a wedding or party, go for it. If you're looking for a more longterm investment, skip and check out other options.

We have had these lights on our covered back porch for years. I have been looking for replacement bulbs forever in "brick and mortar" stores with no luck. I found these online and thought I would give them a shot. They were the exact size and colors needed to replace our burned out bulbs. They came packaged well and no bulbs were broken during shipping. I will purchase these again when the time comes.

These lights are replacements, meant to fit a C-9 size connector. I got these for my pre-lit Christmas tree, and they are true to color. One bulb was broken but Novelty Lights, Inc. sent me a replacement box and those were all in one piece. These bulbs produce a soft, hazy red glow and are beautiful.

I highly recommend Novelty Lights Inc. to anyone who is looking for novelty or special lighting. I purchased G-50 Globe lightbulbs online in error, so I requested for an exchange. The services personnel was extremely attentive and knowledgeable of their own products, The whole exchange process through telephone call took about 3 minutes for me to get a return authorization number, re-purchase the right size, and got my differential refund. And the best of all, I got my lightbulbs in about 3-4 business days. The bulbs fits perfectly, and the color is exactly what it shows in the catalog. So far I have been using them everyday for about 3 weeks without any defectives, I would definitely reorder from them in the very near future.

The seller accepted a return (thank you), but there was glass all inside the box and all over the floor when I opened the box. Totally unacceptable. I really wanted to love this, but would have been better not to have it shipped or to have it packed better.
