I purchased this item i was not sure if i would like it. It really surprised me being kind of small. It really packs a punch nice solid sound. I tested it with music and blu ray movie it did very well. When i turned it all the way up it held its own! For a no name subwoofer you can't beat it!

Photo is still wrong at the time this review is written, This is a single powered sub, not a pair of speakers.

Ships double boxed in dense styrofoam, packaged well. A 6 foot attached power cord and a generous 12 foot dual RCA cable are included, as is a required (but cheapo) RCA Y adapter. Substituting an opposite gender Y adapter allows for the use of a single wire from the receiver. Adding a RCA F/F adapter (or using the shipped Y adapter) can extend the RCA cable length to an effective 24 feet if needed, enough for most rooms.Good looking black wood grain veneer matches similar offerings from Acoustic Audio and Theater Solutions. Cabinet is solid, sturdy and heavy as it should be. Standard features such as gain control, crossover frequency adjustment, polarity adjustment and signal on/off are included. I was unable to get the auto on /off feature to work reliably (fail to come on sometimes, shut off at unexpected times) and thus only 4 stars. Proper location and adjustment is critical to getting the best results. I found this to be a good match for a 7.1/110 watt receiver using large full range front speakers once things were set up correctly. Bass is fairly tight and neutral, good for music as others have noted, and compares favorably with the name brands. At the current 180$ price this is a little overpriced IMO, I paid quite a bit less and feel that I got my moneys worth here. Watch for sales as prices change often!

I bought this sub to drive my everyday TV and music audio needs, for my surround sound system. I've been using this sub for about a week and it's small, well priced, and with great sound.

It works well with my center and surround speakers to drive dialogue. It hits the mids and highs perfectly. I don't have the crossover set to maximum lows, but it does have decent bass, although the lows can be annoying if set too low. That's what my powerful Klipsch is for, used mainly when I'm watching action movies.

What this sub actually does superbly... is music, believe it or not. If you listen to a lot of music then this sub is definity for you. The sounds are strong, vivid, and crisp. If you listen to RB, club music, or HipHop, you will need to add more bass, but the sound will still be fantastic.

The bass is not smooth, rich, or deeply pounding, like my Klipsch. Instead its clean, thumping, and punchy... but it can also get jarring and even rattling if the bass is set too low.

In conclusion, I love this little sub and I highly recommend it to music lovers, or those that need a decent yet compact subwoofer.

I use this sub with these monitors (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006A2RI6G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and they are an wesome combo for everything from recording studio monitors to a great sound system for my workout room and surround sound TV. This is a great sub.

Caution... it's a little boomy if you leave it in a corner... placing it wisely makes a HUGE difference in it's performance... as well as setting the crossover correctly. Just FYI.

This is an excellent product with a down-firing "dynamic" speaker. Its packaging includes cables and a jack for inputing a subwoofer signal from a single out plug into a dual, which the unit has in the rear with RCA type or hard wire.

The unit was being fed by a new Onkyo Receiver with 110 watts RMS, my having to turn down the gain a bit on this small subwoofer. To that end it would have been better used for the smaller Onkyo that I had been using.

I instead purchased a ten-inch and 12-inch from Acoustic audio, those speakers easily handling the new Onkyo being 7.2, my satified with their gain control at 60%.

The unit also has a low frequency response control that you can adjust for the subwoofer to respond up to the lowest value on the other seven speakers speakers in the room.
