I used these with a Manfrotto head and another brand monopod. They are longer than Manfrotto bushings, so I think their length might be a problem if you tried to use them between a Manfrotto head and Manfrotto monopod. In my case, the monopod conveniently had a spacer that could be set between the two pieces, so it all worked perfectly. These seemed to be strong and durable.

If you have a less expensive tripod, it probably has 1/4" threads on the quick release plate. If you purchase a decent head, it will probably need to mate to a 3/8" stud. This adapter allows you to do that.

I love using these for small projects, I like them for Camera & Camcorder tripod additions, & they work perfect, well made & they do the job, they can break as I found out, when I used a large screw driver to tighten one into a small plastic project box, after drilling the hole, but have never had one break after installing it, & using it.
