Just installed this amp a few days ago. I also got the PEQ Equalization remote. I listen to a wide variety of music from classical, to jazz, to rock, covering several decades of changes in recording technology and engineering. The PEQ remote is essential in allowing finger tip adjustments to compensate for decades of differing recording technologies and EQ mixes. This amp does all it claims and does so flawlessly. The boosted rail technology is a very clever engineering feat and gives this amp, which is no larger than a paperback novel, power you would expect from a much larger unit. It can handle both high level and RCA level inputs and it features all of the adjustments you would typically want (gain, band pass) to optimize the bass portion of your audio. I highly highly recommend it! BTW... I have it paired with a single 8" Polk db840 dual voice coil sub. It totally kicks butt!

I can't get over how small and efficient this amp is. I'm used to an amp taking up sooooo much room and emitting so much heat. When I got this little beast, I was blown away with its size. I thought to myself "This is not going to work". Boy was I wrong. Worked like a charm and a hell of a lot better than my bigger amp this replaced! I have a 15 Wrangler Unlimited. We mounted this underneath the rear seat. It's so small that it doesn't take up any room, yet you're not losing any of the punch that Rockford Fosgate is known for. This thing is so awesome, I am ordering 2 more as back up in case is fry this puppy (which I doubt will happen). The best thing about this amp, and the connection points are clips, so you can unclip the connector, wire it, and plug it right in, it's that easy! so easy, if I ever have to replace it with the extras I'm ordering, I can just unplug all the clips and plug the new one in! YOU NEED ONE OF THESE IN YOUR LIFE!!!!

I had bought this amp with high hopes - however something went wrong with it and it did not appear Amazon was an authorized dealer for Rockford Fosgate so i figured i was doomed on any warranty. Much to my surprise - i contacted Rockford Fosgate and they told me no problem Amazon is an authorized dealer - box it up and mail it back in and they will send me a replacement amp - at this point i am very satisfied with the results i will complete this review once i receive the new replacement amp .

I purchased this amp along with a Rockford Fosgate 10" sub to add some much-needed low end to the factory sound system in my 2012 Volkswagen GTI. For the price, it was the only amp I could find that was small enough to fit under the driver's seat but still have adequate power.

Installation was very easy, and the amp gets along great with the speaker-level inputs. I have the input sensitivity knob set to the lowest point (highest sensitivity) and it wasn't necessary to use a remote turn-on lead because the amp instantly switches on and off with the factory headunit, even when the headunit volume is turned all the way down.

Initially, I was disappointed with the amp's performance. I tried dozens of combinations of settings (gain and crossover on the amp, and the bass control on the factory headunit), but I couldn't find a sweet spot -- the bass was either way too weak or totally overpowering. I decided to spend another $30 to purchase the optional Punch EQ knob, and the difference it makes is unbelievable. It's like the amp was missing something it should have had all along, as though the knob unlocks additional functionality in the amp circuitry. The bass is MUCH fuller and more consistent, even at low volume levels. What I find kind of odd is that the Punch EQ makes a noticeable difference even when it's set to 0db boost -- like I said, it's like the amp isn't fully functional without it. I really like being able to use the knob to quickly tweak the bass level as needed; it's way easier than going through the touchscreen menus on the headunit to access the bass setting. FYI, the Punch EQ doesn't duplicate the function of any of the controls on the amp itself -- it performs a totally unique function.

So, in short, I highly recommend this amp, but ONLY in combination with the optional Punch EQ add-on.

Installed this amp in to the trunk of a 95 Miata. Perfect because it takes up very little room and drives my Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-10 Shallow Subwoofer with no issues. Connections are different from a typical amp but not difficult and easily disconnected when the amp needs to be removed when needed.

Talk about the little amp that could!!! It doesn't get too hot. I can still touch it with my hand after running strong for over 30 minutes straight. It's small enough that I have it hidden. You wouldn't believe this little guy is providing the power to shake the hell out of my SUV!! I have it matched with a Kicker 10" CVT box (another amazingly compact component). If you know this match-up, you know that I'm only pushing half the power yet.

Is it worth getting? HELL YES!!

If your sub is cutting out, check your connections first... more on that below.

This was a replacement for the PBR300X1 (exactly the same, less 200 watts) that I thought was shot. This amp is awesome! Currently powering a Rockford Fosgate P3 10 inch at 500watts/1ohm and sounding killer (in Honda Odyssey even)! Small footprint with lots of power. I have its sister amp for the main cabin speakers, using all Rockford Fosgate wiring/distribution blocks. The only cons I can find is the positioning of the switches and connections, but I guess that can't be helped if you want a small footprint (I use my van for work, so a big install wasn't an option). They do get hot, I added an 80mm fan for each amp (negative from fan into amp ground, positive into amp remote, gets power from the head unit that way & comes on with amps) in a custom box. I got the bass boost knob as well, I find that to be essential now that I have it (I'll be posting a separate review on that in a bit). Might actually replace the amp set-up in my other car... just to add a knob, lol.

So, I had the 300 watt version installed with the hu, other amp and all wiring at a local shop a year or so ago. They put the amps and all cables IN the dash behind the head unit, against the heating duct! Yes these amps are small enough for that! Many many overheating shutdowns later, I finally reinstalled the whole thing, new cables and all. The sub started cutting out a couple days later, so I switched with the sub in my other car to test it. Still cut out in the van, so I thought the amp was fried, too late waiting to re-install, nuts. Got the new amp on sale here, installed it, same thing - sub cutting out?!?!?
