GREAT product!

I bought a front loading washing machine about 4 years ago and starting about 2 years ago I had an odor coming out of it that drove me crazy! I tried every home remedy I could find and nothing worked. I recently ried the Tide product but it smelled so strong that I had to stop using it. I found Smelly Washer cleaner about a month ago and after the first treatment the odor is GONE!

Didn't work for me

Our house is for sale and since appliances are included, I wanted to have them all in the best possible condition. Washer is about 6 years old, had a slight musty/sour smell. I'd read glowing reviews of this product so I figured it was worth trying. Have used it twice now, filling washer completely with hot water and letting it soak for 6 hrs, the maximum recommended time. At best, the smell may be slightly less but it's far from smelling clean. Very disappointed. We've got hard water, perhaps that's a factor but that should be noted in directions. Going to return the rest if they'll take it back.

Works Great!

Works as promised

Somewhere along the line, my top loading washer of over 30 years started smelling horrid. I'd left a load of towels in it, accidentally one time too many, I think. It may also be the new detergent I used. I've left towels in the drum before and never had this happen. I live in a desert so clothes dry in the drum in a few hours (though I don't recommend that method of drying). I'd read that using too much detergent or certain types of soaps increases your risk of the dreaded Smelly Washer. We had just changed to those premeasured balls of soap with the whitener and booster included. I'm thinking they may be too much detergent, etc. for my loads.

I'd tried ALL the home remedies and I mean ALL. Only this product worked. It took twice of washing the washer, as per instructions (and I added boiling water just to make sure). I'm happy, it was worth the effort. There is no more stench.

My friend has a front loader and it's ghastly. I told her about this. She's been using bleach wipes in the rubber seal (where all the green icky stuff grows). Man, if I had a front loader, I'd be using this stuff exclusively. You don't have to do any messy wipe clean up!

I'd give it 5 stars but I haven't tried it on my friend's horrid front loader yet. If she lets me and it works, I'll revise this review to a 5 star.

Too Long versus tablets.

The packages are not easy to open and leaving the powder in for 4 to 6 hours in water is not possible ,the tablets work in my stain cycle.
