I like All-Clad products and have a full set that I use daily. Never have issues with sticking or uneven heating.

But there are MANY different brands of multi-ply pans out there. Would I buy All-Clad again? Probably not. Mostly because the handles are uncomfortably designed. Made for sliding around on a professional cooktop or lifted with a towel or potholder, and angled upward to clear adjacent pots & pans on other burners, I find them too uncomfortable and poorly balanced for home use. If you're considering a product like this, look around. Don't buy into the sales hype. Any top name aluminum-core stainless products will perform just as well as these. Go for comfort, find some with handles you'll be happy to live with because they'll last a lifetime.

That said... I'm used to my All-Clad and will keep them. This 6-Quart Deep saucepot however, has disappointed me.

After a few years of use it has developed a severely warped bottom. Sandwich-construction cookware should never be overheated and mine have never been. The pot in this review was only ever used as a soup & stock simmering, never for high heat and never in an oven. Yet it warped to the point where it rocked back & forth on a countertop or on a ceramic cooktop. It spun freely, rocked, and slid at the slightest touch because of a rounded bottom. It was dangerous and needed to be replaced. I continued to use it, wedging a metal spatula under one edge to shim it if I needed to cook with it... but eventually I contacted All-Clad who arranged a return shipment and a month later I received a brand new replacement.Read more ›

Receiving this Saute Pan is like receiving a carefully crafted work of art. And it is a new experience, especially if you have been using non stick pans for a number of years. I found it necessary to cook at a lot lower temperature, but I noticed that the food did not have that over cooked dry taste that I had been used to. Once you stop starring at the beauty and craftsmanship of this All Clad Stainless Steel Saute Pan and really get into cooking with it, you will learn a whole new style of cooking.

After using non-stick pans for many years, it takes a bit of adjustment to use this pan. Because of its high heat conductivity and retention, I found I can cook better with a lower heat setting. Unlike non-stick, this pan also allows brown bits on the bottom of the pan and this enhance any sauce or gravy. The pan might be a little more difficult to clean (need to soak it longer), but we really like the high quality and it will last more than a lifetime.
