Just so you know, Johnson & Johnson stopped manufacturing this product a long time ago. I called the company to confirm. They no longer have any stock. What we are purchasing is the last of the stock that sellers have in their warehouses and that's the last of it.

They said they stopped production because the product didn't sell. I believe their were two reasons:

1. Some of the reviewers here on Amazon shared dental studies that supposedly "proved" the dental rinse had no benefit.

2. Many supermarkets and drugstores have sold their own private label versions of this product. Since their prices were much lower than Plax even though the ingredients were exactly the same, I believe that lowered sales for Plax. I was just as happy with the private label versions myself.

This is a great product and I believe it does exactly what it's supposed to do, despite those studies/reports.

I only hope that the private label versions have sold well enough so that those products will continue to be available for us when Plax completely disappears.

Wow, what a difference this makes. I read the reviews and was very skeptical. My husband and I tried it and I have to say our teeth look and feel so much cleaner. It also does seem to help with tartar (I advise using a pick to assist with that though). I can't imagine brushing without it now. I highly recommend at least trying this product. We both decided to brush with toothpaste, then we rinse with a small amount of the Plax and then we brush again (with the Plax in mouth). If you don't believe me, try it and run your tongue along your teeth before and then after using the product. It WILL make a difference!

Use of Plax before brushing each morning is something I have been doing for almost 20 y ears. I've never been one to brush my teeth twice per day and using this product, my teeth always feel clean. I started after noticing plaque immediately after brushing. In the past, I've had dentists say this product is unnecessary. However, they usually are impressed with how clean my teeth are even when I have gone a year without a cleaning. A new hygienist said that Plax loosens the plaque so that the entire time you are brushing is effective. Without it, brushing initially loosens the plaque and thereafter is effective. I can definitely agree as my teeth tend to feel "fresh out of the dentist chair clean each morning.

I cannot find Plax anywhere except at Walmart sometimes. I've tried three drugstore chains and all of them did not carry it. Walmart was out and Target claimed to carry it, but didn't have it on the shelves. This stuff is powerful and, although I don't notice much difference in my plaque build up, it does make my mouth feel super clean and my teeth smooth after rinsing with is. My mom claims it is helping her plaque problem.
