I am so impressed with this little rechargeable battery, I have had my hand held Dyson for over 5 years. The original battery was running down bad, it would only run for a few seconds at the most, I was worried that I would have to by a new Dyson. But the new battery has brought it back to life!! I charged it and cleaned for 10 minutes and still had power left. Love it! Love my Dyson's, all of them.

If you made the mistake of buying a Dyson Hand Vac, you may or may not know that you will have to replace the stock battery in a fairly short period of time. Dyson will offer you ZERO help other than to sell you another grossly under capacity, inferior quality and overpriced battery. IF YOU HAVE NOT PURCHASED A DYSON HAND VAC. DO NOT DO SO UNLESS YOU LIKE TO OVERPAY. If you already have this vac, THIS BATTERY IS AN EXCELLENT UPGRADE TO WHAT DYSON EQUIPS THEIR PRODUCT WITH OUT OF THE BOX. The duration of this battery is far greater than the stock battery. If need be, I can use this vac now for days without having to put it back on the charger. As you already know, the stock battery Dyson put on this vac will only operate for about 5 minutes before running totally dead and shutting off. DYSON SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!! With this replacement battery (almost half the cost of what Dyson will charge you for their inferior battery replacement) I now actually enjoy using this vac knowing there is plenty of power to handle whatever I need to do. You won't be sorry if you buy this battery. The company that sells this product for Amazon "Pwr+" has been excellent to deal with too.

I think I purchased my Dyson CD-16 Root in 2009 and it met all my expectations for a short pertiod of time - (maybe for a week), then it became less effective each time it was charged. Finally, I retired it for the time. It moved from closet-to-closet until I basically forgot it! Recently it revealed itself again and I decided I would do something about it. It was after Googling it, that I found out nearly everyone in the world had the same problems I had experienced.

ENOUGH! I started looking for the battery replacement elsewhere - and found this one. The price was right - the specs were good, so I ordered it. In a few days, it came and I immediately gave it a complete charge and the results were INCREDIBLE. It ran on and on - I used it everywhere and eventually, it need another charge. Next experience was the same as the first, with this new battery - EXCELLENT! So now I am a happy Dyson DC-6 Root owner, but no-thanks to Dyson.

Now, I will contact Dyson and insist that they send me a FREE replacement for the "DUD" I had originally (don't mind having a spare) and who knows, this one might actually work!

I have been a proud owner of a handheld Dyson for more than 4 years. I am very happy about everything but one thing: the rechargeable battery. The issue I have been facing is that after a few weeks it does not hold the charge anymore and essentially is able to power the device for less than 60 seconds. Dyson replaced the battery already once and then the same defect appeared once again. I was ready to buy a new vacuum, but then I thought of trying a non-Dyson battery. After extensive search on Amazon I stumbled upon the PWR+ battery, I saw pretty positive comments and I decided to purchase it. Well, what a change! The battery fits perfectly, it powers the device for muuuuuuch longer than the Dyson original battery and has shown no "memory effect" so far. Last but not least it is also cheaper than the Dyson one, so I honestly do not know what else to ask for. :-) Definitely a recommended purchase. Well done, PWR+!

I have to agree with some of the posters who have said that the original battery shipped with the dyson is junk and this one is much better. I was never able to get more than 4 maybe 5 mins of use out of my dyson even when it was new, it's only a couple of years old and for the last year I was unable to use it for more than 1 min or less without it constantly stopping, it was a real pain.

Now it goes for about 10 mins of constant use, which is really great in my book..

The original Dyson battery never lasted long anyway, but when mine got to the point that it could only hold like a 30-second charge, I started searching for a replacement. This is the perfect battery for it. Though I haven't timed it, the charge lasts noticeably longer than the original. I'm getting several minutes of continuous use from it. The only negative is that it's black instead of dark gray like the Dyson battery. But it's a vacuum battery, not a show piece, so who cares?
