It's a brass jag... does what it is made to do... no issue. I normally use a patch holder but I put this in a field kit so I could use it to knock out obstructions.... it also let you use make shift patches if you run out of those fancy round Otis darlings.

Tough to push a patch through a bore that has any fouling (I have the 0.40), but this Jag really allows the patch to make maximum contact with the bore and pick up all the loose stuff. Once the bore is relatively clean, a patch goes through much easier.

This jag is made of high quality metal. The edges are sharpe and honed well, likewise the spear on the top is just sharp enough to get through the patches but not sharp enough to be a concern. The threads fit the common size of cleaning rod. I have used this jag for 7.65x53, 7.92x57, and 8mm, it works great for all of them. This jag is far superior to the more common plastic type, as the tip does not get bent and dull.

This is a solid jag. The .30 cal. patches I bought would not push through the bore because they were too tight. Maybe the jag is a little oversized or maybe the patches were to big but either way, I cut the patches in half and get twice the amount now so I can't complain!

This jag and the Tipton Ultra Gun Jag, 22-Calibre that I bought with it, were originally too tight a fit for my .22LR rifles. The jag fit fine on its own, but putting a patch on it--no matter how small--made it difficult to push through the barrel. About half the time, the patch got stuck within an inch or two of the chamber and the cleaning rod had to be tugged out with a lot of force. A bit of work with some 200-grit sandpaper was needed to trim the diameter of the jags enough that they'll accept a patch and go all the way through the barrel.

Solid and perfectly sized for any 45 acp barrel. The .010 difference provides just the right amount clearance for a cotton patch used as a swab to lay down bore cleaner. Double the patch and you get a tight fit to help push deposits out of the bore. This well made jag will last several lifetimes.

I bought this to replace a jag that broke off in my barrel. That was from a Hoppes set that I had and as a result I had to replace my 30 cal jag and cleaning rod. This one has a better tip than my last one which makes it really easy to put the patches on. They stay on tight too.
