Kikkerland Fresnel Magnifier Bookmark (MG03)

Imagine my shock when this package arrived and I opened it to find a totally bendable, completely plastic magnifier! Associating the word "Fresnel" with this poor quality magnifier is an insult to French physicist Augustine Fresnel, who invented the beautiful. original, prismatic, high quality glass lenses in the lighthouses of the past. Yes, this works as a bookmark. And yes, it DOES magnify. But there is no mention in the description of it being nothing but thin, flimsy plastic and even the photo appears misleading. The pros? Easy to store. Magnification works. Cons? It will bend if not careful and scratch. Lesson learned? Don't expect much for such a low price. And don't believe everything you read.

This is not worthy of a gumball machine. Don't even waste your time or money. It is a small, flimsy piece of plastic that scratches IMMEDIATELY!

Maybe it's just my eyes but I get a lot of distortion with these magnifiers. I bought them because of the 3X magnification. But unless the hand is perfectly still, the result is distortion. I have very little use for them.
